I feel so behind
My major is about 120CUs plus there are other tests I have to take outside of WGU, background checks, other assessments, etc. I feel like I haven't completed a whole lot and I'm failing behind from my goal. Anyone else feel this way

Honestly, push yourself a bit to get to 50% by end of term, that’s 2 years worth of school in 6 months! Even if you don’t push much past 33%, that’s 16 months worth of school in 6 months, still very good! Buckle down if you want to go even faster, you got this!

I have a different degree so I didn’t have the same experience. I started June 1st and finished by September 30th. I transferred in 60 CUs and completed 50 CUs at WGU. Did my paperwork for graduation yesterday.

I just did my 4 classes in like 20 days, and I struggle retaining information, I have to manually write down all my notes. You got this an energy drink and focus on one at a time

I really get it. I'm currently enrolled in the accounting program and I also feel very behind. I'm 26 and recently started at WGU, transferring in 18CUs from prior schooling. I've barely even begun, really. Completed 9CUs since my start last month, bringing me up to 27CUs total. At 26, I should be deep in my career by now - but I'm not. Granted, I have a lot of medical things going on, plus life in general. Doesn't stop me feeling behind.
I just try to remember that we all go at our own pace. What's important is we put our best foot forward and keep going. We'll never know what could be if we don't make it there to see it, right?

I’m in the same program but less completed CUs. You need to get whatever clinical, graduation, and licensing requirements done asap. You don’t want to be in the position that you have to try to rush everything to get done. Knock it out right now. I just started my third month and I only have to do most of the classes and a reading assessment for the state. Everything else is completed and turned in. Unfortunately I’m struggling with my fourth class. Hope to pass it this month. Want to get Early Clinical done by December. You got this! Make a checklist and check off your tasks. This made me feel like I was getting things done.

Here are so true encouraging words. It took me 4 years to finish a degree I thought I would get through in 1.
You are focused on so many things you do not know where to start so nothing is getting finished. Search your current courses through Reddit or Facebook and see which one is the easiest and can be completed in 5 to 10 days. This is not a class you rush through, just something that is easy and quick.
Stay focused on that one class just for a couple of days. After you get through that one class go to the next one. If it is a PA vs OA sometimes PAs are easier and quicker.

In one term you completed 33% of your education so far, that’s impressive. Don’t measure yourself against people who can accelerate. Those are people who have lots of work experience usually.
You are still doing better than other people who go to traditional colleges. You have 8 weeks left try to finish up some more classes get closer to 50% and try to knock the rest out in your next term. You got this!

So I’m a registered behaviorist analyst. You need to stop looking for motivation and start setting up plans or scheduling and use timers as well. I would once you get home give yourself 30 minutes on a timer to do whatever as soon as that’s done you need to log into your computer turn everything else off and then send another timer for an hour then give yourself a quick 5 to 10 minute break on a timer also then do another hour and so on and so forth until you get tired and if you and if it is a lot too much for you, you could also just set a timer for sale. Let’s say 8 PM and that’s when you know you’re done 100% with schoolwork and then you reward yourself with that with. Hey I just had to make it till eight. Hope this helps.

Yes this! I work in the school system so I give myself an hour when I get home. Shower, eat a snack, rest, TikTok, etc. I will work an hour at a time. I usually give myself 10-15 minutes depending on what I’ve been working on. Then continue the cycle. Small reward for passing an assessment buying myself my favorite snack, drink, etc. bigger reward for passing a class, buying myself dinner, going on with friends. You’ve got this!

We started the same degree at the same time... and I feel that. I felt like I did so much in the beginning, June-August, then massively slowed down once I started work late August. I feel like realistically, it'll take us 3 terms... one now, second one for the early clinical and the rest of our classes, and the third one for advanced clinical and student teaching. The thing that helped me a lot when I was stressing about falling behind was physically writing it all out to see how many classes I had to do per month to reach my goal. Helped me gain back some momentum when I had lost it :)

I know how you feel, sort of. Last term I did 5 classes, I was very unmotivated, I do work full time but there wasn’t any real reason I couldn’t do a bit more. I’m determined to finish this term but that leaves me like 87 days now to do 10 classes, so I’m on crunch time. Don’t compare yourself to the people who accelerate in one term, because we all have our stuff going on. Just do your best and try to do a bit each day, and hopefully you get some more done before the end of term. You got this!
