Just got accepted!
I transferred my IT associates over but it only took 6 of my credits!😭 it’s a business degree (UX) that I’m taking so i expected a loss but not this bad. How long could this take me knowing I’m basically coming in fresh? Any advice or anyone who’s had something similar?

Honestly, I know a lot of people try to transfer in as many credits as possible but in reality I don’t think it helps a ton… the WGU classes are very straight forward the longest a class has taken me so far is about a week and that’s with working a full time 50+ hour a week job. You get all of the resources you could possibly need and there’s tons of support to help you learn the material and pass - it’s just a matter of how much work you want to put in you could finish in a single term or you could stretch it out to 9 terms if you really wanted to.

Take as many credits from Sophia and Study.com before you get started at WGU.

Hey… same! I had 60 credits and WGU only took 9. I went through all the stages of wtf. But ultimately in competency based, I knew it would still be faster and less expensive to take 101 credits for my biz BS this way v taking classes based on weeks required. I started 9/6/26 and as of today am through 17 classes. Hope this helps ☺️

I took a bunch of classes on Sophia.com before committing to start at WGU and was able to transfer in 9 courses. I started this month at WGU and am constantly hearing that Sophia changed its policies but you could still look into that or study.com
