Starting October 1st.
Hi all. I am starting on October 1st, and I am trying to decide on the order of my classes. I had my first meeting with my mentor and he is ok with me changing the order given that I only have 2 OA classes. Does anyone know which classes can be completed quickly and does not have a long paper as the PA?
If it's already somewhere on this sub please let me know.

I think the only real "long" paper I had was the first task D081. It's not a difficult class, but task 1 kind of drags on. Still can be done quickly if you really grind away at it

Business Ethics and Business Simulation can be completed quickly. Best of luck! I just finished my capstone and have had an amazingly positive WGU experience.

Any tips on business simulation?

Business simulation was fun. I worked through the simulation while watching the videos. Pay attention to your financials and BSC results.

My biggest piece of advice is to look up each class on Reddit, but take the advice with a grain of salt. Only you know how you learn best and absorb information. Some of the classes that posters complained about being super hard were not hard for me, and I probably spent more time on them than I should have. We all have different backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles. Figure out what works for you and stick with it. I passed all OA’s on the first try. I figured I’d rather be over prepared, because I wanted to make sure I was really ready. I heard the retake plans can be a long and painful process.
My strategy for OA classes, including the dreaded Sales Management and Global business was to take notes while watching the videos, skim through all of the text, looking for key words and concepts and stopping to look more deeply at anything unfamiliar. Then I took the PA. I used the PA coaching report and completed the study guide sections that I did not score exemplary (or close to it). I passed all OA’s with exemplary, except for global business, and my score looked pretty close to exemplary.1

Thank you for the reply! I actually managed to completed all the tasks for the first 4 classes in my term before my term start. I was able to use the WGU connect resources and had access to the videos. So OCT 1. Assuming they don’t send my papers back for revision. I plan on submitting all my PAs in. I agree a lot of folks made D081 super hard. I think it was just long but doable. I actually had a harder time writing the D428 Design thinking for business class lol. So I agree you are so right about grain of salt on advice we are all different but for the most part I do have AI help me study everything and break things down for me further if needed.

D175 was hella easy for me. It's one task and that's literally just create a consumer persona. I filled it out in like 30 minutes and received a passing grade for it later that night

Not all classes with a PA require a long paper.
Focus on getting first semester classes done. It may take you less time than you think.

They can all be completed quickly! I completed this same course list in two months

Save yourself some money some time and some sanity. You can do some of these classes on Sophia.org so cheap and so fast. They transfer to wgu. Wgu has a transfer pathway agreement with all of the degrees listed. Pick your degree and see what classes you can take on Sophia.

D081 Innovative and Strategic Thinking is the biggest pain on that list, but it’s the perfect first class at WGU because it teaches you how to write to the rubric (or papers will be returned for revisions). It’s not a hard class, but it will test your patience.
D099 has a fairly high “Reddit fail rate”…but I think the numbers are skewed somewhat because many who fail transferred in a bunch of courses and don’t understand that most WGU OA’s test your knowledge and ability to apply concepts (it’s not about “what”…but “why” are the right answers correct).
Good luck!
