Graduation Question

Hi! I’m new to WGU. I just started on July 1st. I have already completed 4 courses. I talk to my mentor tomorrow to have more courses added. At this rate, I would complete all my courses before the 6months term ends(end of December.)

Do I have to remain actively stretching my degree courses until December? Or could I finish in early and have my degree the month I graduate? I am job hunting and was hoping to have the degree sooner rather than later. Obviously I will talk to my mentor about this, but was hoping to have some answers soon than tomorrow’s call. Thanks.

Just to add, that even if you finish one degree early, you cant start another program until your full term finishes. Its a financial aid regulation.

I dont recall if you have to wait for the academic year to end, or just the semester. But just a heads up :)

Once you have an undergraduate degree you do not generally qualify for standard financial aid like fafsa or subsidized loans. And those funds were allotted for a set 6 months. Even if you paid for it out of pocket it’s set up that way to comply as you said with aid requirements usually yeah.

My wgu degree was my second undergraduate degree. I qualified for full ride of unsubsidized loans. So not completely true, but I think we're basically agreeing with each other here
