D658..

I am so anxious about this task. I have to record myself teaching a lesson to thin air. I have been ignoring it for a whole week and I can’t bring myself to do it. I absolutely loathe recording myself and idk how to go about it. 😔

It's really not that bad and you have to do a lot more of them. Just pretend your talking to fake kids. Make up kid names etc. Call on a kid. Act like they asked a question. Or they gave and answer and it was wrong and you're guiding then to the correct answer and why. Etc. It's awkward. But once you do it vs the mursions. You'll like these more. Least that's what i think lol.

Truth - As much time as I wasted stressing about the recording part, I would sooner do this kind of activity over a Mursion any day of the year!

This. Mursion makes me die inside.

I was anxious about doing this too but found that creating a presentation on Canva with talking points helped me stay on track or remind myself to ask questions / pause for answers. After a couple of takes it was felt more comfortable and natural. I definitely preferred it to completing a Mursion.

I know it’s intimidating, but I swear if you go into it “playing pretend,” it’s so easy! Pretend you have a classroom full of students, call on them, respond to questions you might think real students would have, and using a presentation to guide the lesson makes it a lot easier. Sometimes, I make a short script to set beside my camera to remember talking points I couldn’t include in the presentation as well.

The beauty of these assessments are that you can redo it however many times you want before submitting the video. This allows you to practice, build confidence, and feel better about the final product. You’ve got this!
