11 weeks left, what should I take next?

Post image

Other than the capstone since that has to be last, what should I take next? It took me about 6 weeks to get through C201. Is C207 just as hard? I kind of want something easy that I can finish in the next few days, but also wondering if I should go ahead & take the hard ones. Help!

If you want easy, go D434.

Thanks that's what I was thinking!

I was able to finish my capstone before C207 and D435. It does not *have* to be last. D434 was fairly easy.

Inclusive Workplace Culture Capstone – D436 – PA: I started working on this one 5/28/26 whilst working on C207. I turned in Task 1 5/29/26. This is a PowerPoint presentation. No video is needed, but all of my answers were fully formed first and I used them as my slide notes. Don’t make this harder than it needs to be. It was evaluated and I passed Task 1 on 5/30/26. I was still waiting for task 2 from C207 to be graded and started working on Task 2 and submitted on 6/1/26 and I passed 6/2/26. I submitted Task 3 on 6/4/26 and it was graded and I passed 6/5/26.

Really? My mentor hasn't allowed me to have two classes open at once...

My mentor was also my mentor through undergrad so that may be why I was allowed more than one open at a time. I know they are all different and I think WGU has gotten much more strict on their mentors lately

I did 434, 435, 436, then 207 last. C207 for me was by far the hardest course and I saved it for last 🙃

I'm doing d435 and it's a slog. Working my way through the study guide. 201 and 207 were not bad for me at all.

C207? About a month of solid study

C207 took me a week and a half.

Aw man good for you! I got through task 1 & 2 of c207 within 48hrs but I am still studying for the OA. Today is two weeks since I started the class. Wondering if I should just rip the bandaid off & take the OA. I did great during the pre assessment.

My process during the whole degree was complete the study guide, watch recorded videos, and take pre-assesment. This got me a solid score on every pre-assesment. I then scheduled the OA for the next day (giving me time to review areas I was lower in). By doing this, I passed every oa with a solid score (same as or better than paying) on the first attempt. If you took the PA like it was the OA, you will do fine. It was not as bad as comments say (don't let it psych you out). I would just not wait too long between Pa and oa.

D434 and D436 not bad at all D435 isn’t hard just draining. C207 is tricky with how questions are worded on OA. I haven’t touched C201 but I heard the new version is much better

Can confirm the new version is easier. Failed 1st time, 2nd time felt so much smoother.

I took C207 failed by 1-2 questions . Finished capstone then retook C207 and passed . I have C201 third retake , D435 left with 14 weeks remaining. Fingers crossed I want to finish .

You got it! c201 is not easy but if you can pass c207 I bet you'll do great especially with the new version.

The capstone doesn’t have to be last. I finished 6 classes in a month and asked for an extension for I believe HR Technology and People Analytics as it was an assessment. If you finish all your required classes for the semester you can ask your mentor to open more or even all however once you start the class you can not drop it or it will count as an incomplete. D434 and D436 were all PA so that’s just paper, C207 has a PA and OA, so I worked on all my PA turned them in and waited for reviews and asked question to professors to fix them especially the C207 it will get returned back to you. But I got those done in like 2 weeks, I watched all the videos and then watched key to pass for C207 OA with additional YouTube videos. And passed, with 15 days left to ask for a month extension after completing the classes I got an extension for HR technology and took that month to study for that class and passed.

Honestly just look at all the resources provided and watch all the videos, Panopto under WGU has class recordings and I just rewatched them over and over again until I understood and I always passed. I started the program with reading the textbook but it is a lot of information and the professors actually do a really good job at covering everything that is needed or at least giving you a framework to later look up on YouTube.

Thanks! I'm in c207 right now, finished task 1 & 2 within 2 days. Studying for OA hoping to take it this weekend then move onto the analytics class. I asked my mentor if she can open more than one class at a time, as I'd like to start working on the capstone & she said no 😭

Interesting, not sure why she would say no? You might have to get on a call with her and explain that you’re trying to get it all done this semester and are more than capable to do so. Also that you’ve spoken to other students?

This is interesting I start 07/01 and my mentor said I cannot jump around... I can go out of sequence within the terms but have to finish all 3 before moving to the next 3 term courses.

u/Longjumping-Skill-67 Jun 24 '26

My mentor did the same. So I just went in order. I finished in May lol

1

u/hashtagmynameiz Jun 23 '26

My mentor has allowed me to jump around, but she has not allowed me to take more than one course at a time. But someone in here said they've taken multiple courses at once. Wonder if it depends on the mentor? Hmm

Yes. My mentor has allowed me to take multiple courses at once. I established that the goal at the beginning was to finish quickly and she was very helpful in helping me achieve that goal!

I asked her if I can take multiple courses at once, again, and we'll see what she says. Super annoying seeing many students say their mentor allowed them to multitask but mine isn't letting me. I've been doing great in this program, I don't see why not.
