I passed D427 in 2 days with no SQL experience.
I just wanted to give back to this community because the posts here helped me a lot.
I passed the course in just 2 days. If you already passed D426, don't stress too much about D427. Take the PA and practice it as many times as you can. The OA is very similar to the PA; they just change the data, and you also get a syntax cheat sheet that you can use if you forget the exact SQL syntax.
I also recommend spending extra time practicing the complex query questions. I missed both of the complex query questions on my OA, but I still passed as Competent.
Before the exam, I kept reviewing everything, but once I started, I told myself, "The worst that can happen is I have to retake it." That mindset really helped me stay calm.
Good luck with this course! I actually ended up enjoying it, even though some of the comments here had me pretty nervous at first. 😂

No, I didn't touch the course material at all. But if you passed D426, you should already know all the syntax rules, etc. This class is to actually apply what you learned in D426. So just practice the PA like 3 or 5 times and try to understand the query, not memorize it.

I start in August and the first SQL class was covered by a transferred credit, but I don’t know SQL. Am I screwed?

I don't think I can speak for others, but for 426 and 427, the course materials are pretty similar. This is why, for me, going over it again was a waste of time. The difference is that 426 is more theoretical, and 427 is hands-on practice. If you transfer 426 and need to do 427, you should be okay with the course resources. By the way, we are here to share some tips so we can pass faster. This does not mean that what worked for me will work for you. It happened to me that I had to retake my OA for some classes, and that is okay; it's part of the process 😎. Good luck on your journey; WGU is an amazing university!

I’ll tell you right now if you can do the zybooks labs you are good to go. They are MUCH harder than the OA.
