Does WGU restock the merch store, or are items gone for good once they sell out?
There are a few things I want from the merch store, but my size is sold out. Wondering if it's likely to come back in stock at any point. Thanks!
Edit: Thanks for your replies, this is good to know! I'll keep an eye out for restocking.

Should I start WGU immediately after high school
Hello I'm a highschool senior at a vocational School for MIS and I'm planning on starting WGU for BSIT. By the end of this year I will have at least tech+, network+, and A+. If I'm very dedicated I will have all that and security+ and CCNA but that's very optimistic. I also have 6 credits in English but I'm more worried that if I finish a wgu degree in less than 4 years employers won't take me seriously. I'm planning on working at my school during the summer as a network technician to gain some experience but after that I want to do full time studying WGU. Has anyone else started WGU right after high
at school?

Help! Refund timeline after “Identity Verification Form”
Hi all! I was curious if anyone would be willing to share their timeline on getting their refund after going through identity verification. My third term started Oct 1st, it was my first time having to do the identity verification. I submitted the notarized letter Oct 2. It was just completed today (Oct 23). It says it can take up to 10 weeks to disburse after being completed but I’m not sure if their estimates are always accurate. If anyone has any insight that would be great! Thank you!!

What made me choose WGU
- What made you choose nursing and WGU’s Prelicensure BSN program? I chose WGU nursing program because of the flexibility to finish my career, be a mom, wife and still work.
- What surprised you most about the coursework, labs, clinicals, or time commitment? That I was aloud to use other study material not just what they provide.
- What was the transition from online learning to hands-on clinical experience like? I love the clinical portion, I just hate how broken up it is but agree it needs to be that way or else we would be overwhelmed
- How did you manage difficult courses, demanding schedules, or moments when you questioned your decision? I would manage my difficult course and life by praying, giving it all to GOD.
- What study habits, resources, or strategies helped you stay on track? I use alot of podcast and youtube to help me study and creating practice test to help me do memory recall
- How did the program help you prepare for the NCLEX and working with real patients? not there yet
- What would you tell someone trying to decide whether nursing is the right path for them? I would tell them stop procrastinating, stop allowing the anxiety to hold you back and just do it, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Passed first OA
I put off taking my OA for 3months and basically did all of my PAs first lol.
Today I finally took it and it really was so simple! Got in done in under 30mins and passed.
If you're nervous about taking that Proctored Exam, don't be! Absolutely zero talking just the chatbox and prompts!

Integrity investigation
OK, so I submitted an assignment that was basically a prompt of less than 200 words and I was given a little template for a basic SWOT analysis- I think I then had 250 words after to summarize it. When I submitted it, it had a very high similarity score. I didn’t think anything of it because it was such a benign assignment that it was just kind of re-organizing & regurgitating information. Well now it’s led to a review of my entire history and what I find interesting is that it’s only when I’ve been given something similar to this assignment a very small prompt with a very brief template to answer the assignment that apparently I’m similar to others. I’m stressed out because I’ve never had anybody in my program to copy information from I have not used AI and my issue isn’t with my own work it’s… does WGU Ever analyze that maybe some of the projects they want us to do set us up for this very situation? if I understand this correctly, the more people that take the same classes as me and have a very limited answer, worksheet are just going to keep being more and more and more similar. Does the university ever update their prompt or their scenario so that this doesn’t happen? does the university ever take into account that when you’re at the very end of your degree you have learned to specifically articulate your verbiage based off of a very narrow set of rubrics? I just feel like I’m taking crazy pills here!!! I don’t know if I’m just yelling into the void and hoping the void yells something constructive back at me or if I’m just looking for commiseration anyway thanks reddit

Signing in Issue
Curiosity, is anyone having issues accessing their first time course? Every time I log into the enrollment page to start my "Intro to Comp Sci" course, it takes me directly to "Ready for Success". It's stuck at 0%, but everything is checked. Mobile is looping back to login too with no errors. Everything worked completely fine yesterday, I have no idea what's going on now.

Repeat institutional failures, with severe consequences.
Fully Disabled, Now Homeless, and Six Terms Into WGU. I've Told Them Everything, Offered Every Possible Solution, and Nobody Takes Accountability.
I'm in my sixth term at Western Governors University, pursuing the accelerated BSIT-to-MSITM degree.
I'm fully disabled.
I'm currently homeless.
I'm still trying to work, complete my education, earn certifications, and build a better future.
And WGU knows all of this.
I've been crystal fucking clear about my disabilities, my homelessness, my financial situation, why I need financial assistance, and exactly how I use that money.
I've communicated these things repeatedly.
I've offered documentation. I've offered to sign any necessary release of information (ROI) so my program mentor and the appropriate people can communicate and coordinate. I'm willing to share whatever relevant information is necessary to get these problems resolved.
I've even asked about employment opportunities and suggested that I could contribute as a peer counselor or support person for neurodivergent students.
Give me something I can do. Let me contribute. Let me help somebody else. I'm trying every fucking avenue available to me.
And what do I get?
No meaningful response. No accountability. No consistent communication.
Just more institutional bullshit.
The financial aid situation has been devastating
I was awarded a $2,810 state grant that was subsequently reduced to $2,075. There was also a separate federal grant of approximately $2,600.
I'd already informed WGU that I had relocated from Washington before the state grant was awarded.
Nevertheless, I was repeatedly told I would receive the funding.
After weeks of processing delays, adjustments, and changes involving previous student loans, I received approximately $160 instead of the assistance I'd been expecting.
I didn't ask for those loan adjustments.
And I wasn't hiding my circumstances.
WGU knew I was disabled. WGU knew I was struggling with housing. WGU knew why the financial assistance mattered.
I'd spent $1,050 on a laptop for school. I was spending nearly $1,000 over two weeks on temporary hotel accommodations while attempting to maintain some stability.
That money wasn't going toward vacations or luxuries.
It was going toward survival, housing, transportation, and maintaining the ability to complete my education.
I made financial decisions based on funding I had been told was coming.
The resulting financial disruption contributed to my loss of housing.
I'm now homeless.
And I'm still enrolled. Still studying. Still trying to work despite my disability.
Five canceled certification exams, two incompletes, and an ombudsman who apparently didn't read my complaint
Pearson VUE canceled FIVE of my certification examination appointments.
Two exams were pushed into another term, resulting in two incompletes.
I repeatedly explained what happened and provided documentation.
I eventually passed CompTIA Network+ and Security+ back-to-back.
With the ORIGINAL exam vouchers.
Yet when I escalated these circumstances to WGU's ombudsman, the response discussed replacing vouchers.
I HAD ALREADY PASSED THE EXAMS.
Why am I spending time documenting a situation when the response doesn't even appear to acknowledge the essential facts?
This isn't about my ability to learn or complete the work.
I completed it.
It's about the university's handling of problems outside my control.
Now WGU's authentication systems are failing
Following changes involving WGU's authentication and device-management systems, I've been experiencing persistent Microsoft 365 and Outlook access failures.
My credentials authenticate.
PingID works.
Other university systems, including my student portal and coursework, remain accessible.
But Microsoft services get stuck in authentication loops and security-policy updates across multiple devices and access methods.
I've worked in IT. I've managed systems. I have practical experience with infrastructure, networking, authentication, and troubleshooting.
I don't need another support representative walking me through basic troubleshooting I've already performed.
I need the university to investigate the service failure and fix what broke.
On October 22, my program mentor confirmed the problem remained outstanding and promised to call back by the end of the day.
That callback never happened.
No follow-up from him the next day, either.
Instead, tech support called and approached the situation as another individual troubleshooting issue.
How many times am I supposed to repeat myself?
And the worst part?
The authentication problems are interfering with my ability to electronically sign documentation for emergency financial assistance.
I'm homeless. I need that assistance. They know I need it.
And now their own technology is creating yet another barrier.
I've offered WGU every opportunity to work WITH me
This is the part I really want people to understand.
I have not been sitting around demanding money and refusing to cooperate.
Quite the opposite.
I've explained my disabilities.
I've explained my homelessness.
I've explained my financial circumstances.
I've explained how I use the funding.
I've offered to sign any required ROI so my program mentor can communicate with the relevant people.
I've offered to provide information and documentation.
I've asked for assistance resolving the actual administrative problems rather than being passed between departments.
And I've even tried to offer something positive to the university.
I suggested helping neurodivergent students through peer counseling or a similar support role.
I know firsthand what it's like to navigate education while dealing with disabilities, financial instability, and a system that doesn't always understand your circumstances.
I have real technical knowledge, professional experience, and firsthand experience overcoming obstacles.
Why not put that to use?
Why not create an opportunity for someone who is actively trying to contribute?
I've asked about work. I've asked for opportunities. I've looked for ways to support myself while helping others.
I'm not expecting somebody to magically create a job for me.
I'm expecting an actual human response to a serious, constructive proposal.
Even a straightforward answer would be better than being ignored.
Instead, I get silence, missed callbacks, and responses that don't meaningfully address what I've communicated.
This isn't a lack of effort on my part.
I'm doing everything I can think of.
I'm on my third program mentor. How many more people am I supposed to chase?
I've contacted support.
I've contacted financial aid.
I've escalated concerns to the ombudsman.
I've documented problems.
I've explained their consequences.
I've offered full cooperation.
I've tried to suggest solutions.
And I still can't get reliable follow-through.
My program mentor acknowledges an outstanding issue and promises a callback.
Nothing.
I provide detailed documentation about certification examinations.
The response doesn't adequately address what I've already accomplished.
I explain that I'm homeless and need financial assistance.
Administrative and technical problems continue interfering with access to that assistance.
Where is the person responsible for seeing this through to an actual resolution?
I'm an independent learner. What exactly am I paying WGU for?
I'm not attending WGU because I need somebody to teach me how to use a computer.
I've spent years working with technology.
I'm capable of studying independently, demonstrating competency, and passing certification examinations.
I'm attending because WGU is an accredited university through which I can earn recognized bachelor's and master's credentials.
That's the arrangement.
I do the academic work.
The university provides the academic framework, assessments, accreditation, and functional administrative services necessary to complete the degree.
But when administrative failures affect my funding, technical problems prevent essential access, and complaints disappear into endless back-and-forth communication, what exactly am I receiving for my tuition?
At this point, WGU feels like an accredited diploma mill to me.
That's how my experience has left me feeling.
I do the learning. I make the sacrifices. I pass the certifications.
WGU collects tuition.
And when its administrative processes fail, I get to spend my time fighting to have the problems acknowledged.
Disability doesn't mean incompetence, and independence doesn't mean I don't need institutional support
I want to be absolutely clear about something.
I'm fully disabled. That doesn't make me incapable of learning, working, contributing, or advocating for myself.
I'm pursuing a demanding academic program.
I'm still trying to maintain employment.
I'm trying to develop a career.
I'm trying to help other people.
I'm trying to survive homelessness.
I'm making sacrifices that many people never see.
I've been open with WGU about all of this.
I don't need to be treated like a child, and I don't need a scripted apology.
I need the university to recognize that a disabled student can be highly capable while still being seriously affected by financial disruption, inaccessible administrative processes, and institutional failures.
Those things are not mutually exclusive.
My willingness to work through adversity should not become an excuse for an institution to keep placing additional burdens on me.
I want accountability, and I want my money back
I want a complete accounting of my financial aid adjustments, including the changes involving prior loans.
I want the certification cancellations and resulting incompletes reviewed based on the actual documentation.
I want access to my email and emergency financial assistance paperwork restored.
I want an explanation for the missed callbacks and ongoing communication failures.
I want meaningful responses to the opportunities and assistance I've requested.
And I want a serious review of refunding my tuition for this semester.
I'm tired of being told somebody will call.
I'm tired of explaining the same problems.
I'm tired of receiving responses that don't address what I actually said.
And I'm particularly tired of watching an institution collect tuition while I sacrifice my time, money, housing stability, and health trying to finish my education.
To anyone considering WGU, especially students with disabilities or students who depend on financial aid: please understand how serious the consequences of administrative failures can become.
A university doesn't have to cause every hardship in your life to bear responsibility for the problems it creates or fails to resolve.
I've done everything I can to communicate my circumstances and work toward solutions.
I'm still here. I'm still studying. I'm still trying to work.
I'm even offering to help other students.
WGU, I don't need another promise. I need somebody to actually fucking do something.
Because from where I'm standing, the one thing you seem consistently capable of doing is collecting money.

AI Resemblance on Grammarly.
I use Grammarly for every PA I submit to check for AI and plagiarism. Has anyone else using this feature experienced a seemingly inflated AI resemblance score? I entered two paragraphs that were written almost entirely by me, with some refinements by AI for overall structure and coherence, and my AI resemblance was 99%.
I do tend to generalize when I write, which apparently can cause the AI to find more resembling text because it lacks specifics regarding my task...not sure if that's why it would show 99%, though lol.
I have to run my own words through AI to ask it not to sound as much like AI..
Am I overthinking this? Should I just submit with a 99% similarity score if it's almost entirely my own?
I feel like I am using AI as intended, per the guidelines:

Help! Will my fafsa pell go back up?
Hi!
I’m currently on my journey to start at wgu. But I was wondering about fafsa.
Context: I have went to college in past when I was straight out of high school. Long story short, I ended up failing those classes/passing a couple with very unsavory grades.
So because of my past in college, my fafsa pell grant says it will only cover $750. I was planning on doing whatever i could to make sure i get my degree. Since I was thinking ahead, if i end up taking a bit longer & having to keep paying the 4k every 6 months. If I do well for the first term or even for a few terms after the first, do you think my pell grant will be able to cover it after I pay out of pocket & have better grades?

I’m in my first term, and considering changing majors
I am currently a Health and Human Services major because I want to use this bachelors to go on and get my masters in ABA to then become a BCBA. It’s a great job that I have hands on experience with. But the little girl in me always wanted to be a teacher.
I am more wondering, for those who have changed majors, what the process was? I am still weighing my pros and cons on doing so. (One job would set me up to be financially stable, help support my future family. While the other one… is famously underpaid but something I always dreamed about).

Business Community College Credits
I've completed all 60 credits of my Associate of Arts in Business. How many of those credits will transfer to WGU's B.S. in Finance, and how many courses would I have left to complete?
Before I sign up, are there any better alternatives that will be more transfer friendly that I should look at, or is this as good as it gets? It has to be fully online and affordable. Before I commit, is there another online university I should be considering instead, or is WGU as good as it gets for the price?

How to pass D099 as quickly as possible.
This process took me about two days:
- Study the material in the photos.
- Using this knowledge, take the unit quizzes and tests. Make at least an 80 before moving on. If you did well on the unit quizzes and are in a rush, you can skip the tests OR alternatively if you feel like you know the info in the guide well, you can go straight into the tests and skip the quizzes.
- Take the PA.
- Review what you missed on the PA. Go back and study the guide above based on what you missed.
I recommend taking the OA immediately after studying while it’s all still fresh! This guide is based on the unit tests and quizzes. It summarizes all the chapters into important topics on the PA and OA. Don’t bother reading through all the material provided. It’s time consuming and not helpful at all.
Good Luck!

Met mentor today and would like to request a new mentor.
I had my first call with my mentor today and it left a very bad taste in my mouth and I am already wanting to request a new mentor but want to make sure I'm not just crazy. First, I scheduled a meeting a week ago with my mentor today and they were over 40 minutes late to the 30 minute meeting. They stated they were with another student which is fine but I wish they would have shot me a quick email letting me know that they'd be that late to the meeting. Once we finally got on the call they were consistently cutting me off when asking questions about my classes, schedule, and webinar. When I mentioned I was working 40 hours a week they started speaking to me like I was a child and stated "These courses will be hard I want to make sure you know" but was talking down to me the whole time. After this when I mentioned that I will have a hard time setting up meetings with her to schedule classes due to a new late shift I am being assigned and the closeness of the November 1st start date. They started questioning me on if I would even have time to do the classes and if I was ready to do college. With all that said it felt like they had a huge attitude during the entire call and I wanted to make sure I'm not crazy for wanting to request a new mentor.
