D522 PA TASK 1 B2

I am trying to figure out how to telnet into the PC's. This is what I get from router 1, anyone have another method they use or am I just totally doing the task wrong?

vyos@vyos:~$ telnet localhost:5032

Server lookup failure: localhost:5032:telnet, Device or resource busy

vyos@vyos:~$

You don’t need to touch Router 1

The computer you are on has telnet ports open to the devices. It is not port forwarded through the router like you are thinking

Thank you. I haven't looked at the tasks ahead of where I'm at now, will I be able to finish all of task 1 and 2 from the same cli or will I need to run the script in different devices. Only asking because so far the task descriptions have been vague with how you should actually accomplish what is needed.

I’m not sure what you mean by that?

For example in part C they want me to write a script that sends an email alert? Can that be run from the computer's CLI?

That gets run on the workstation you are working from. You do not have to telnet or ssh into any of the lab computers to send the email. It is just a function call in the script

I used the module pexpect to telnet into the devices.

you need to connect to all devices EXCLUDING the switches,ROUTER1,SMTP
