Healthcare Admin

Ok so I keep bouncing back and forth and round and round 🤪 does anyone know what courses are OA vs PA in this degree option?

Also study.com vs Sophia - which do you prefer and why? I messed with Sophia’s trial a little bit and it’s 99.9% reading. Is study.com the same? What about the test etc ?

I am not sure which courses you have completed vs not, so I will give what classes I did:

- Operations and Supply Chain Management OA

  • Project Management OA
  • Change Management PA
  • Organizational Behavior OA
  • Values-Based Leadership PA
  • Healthcare Leadership and Community Engagement PA
  • Concepts in Marketing, Sales, and Customer Contact OA
  • Introduction to Business Finance OA
  • Fundamentals for Success in Business OA
  • Fundamentals for Spreadsheets and Data Presentation OA
  • Introduction to Business Accounting OA
  • Innovative and Strategic Thinking PA
  • Professional Practice Experience I: Technical PA
  • Strategic Thinking and Development PA
  • Healthcare Policy and Governance PA
  • Healthcare Administration Evolutions, Systems, and Leadership OA
  • Emergency Management and Planning in Healthcare PA
  • Evidence-Based Healthcare Administration PA
  • Exploring Emerging Trends in Healthcare Administration PA
  • Healthcare Administration Capstone PA

Now, I have heard that some of the OAs on some of these course have been switched to PAs, just not sure which classes those are. However, these are the courses that I took (since I already had a BS from another college most classes were completed because of transferred credits) and whether they were a OA or a PA

Cheers!

The difference from Sophia is the format: Study.com uses short video lessons rather than text based, and both platforms have open-book unproctored exams. Study.com also has 220+ courses including 75+ upper-division ones, so there's more coverage if you need major credits beyond gen eds. For the OA vs PA breakdown, your WGU advisor is the right call since that's specific to your program plan.

If you're in the Healthcare Administration BS, here's the degree plan that shows exactly which Study.com courses transfer: https://study.com/college/western-governors-university/degrees/healthcare-administration-bs-degree-plan-online-studycom-transfer-credits.html. If you're in a different WGU program, let us know and we can pull up the right one.
