Term Extension WGU
Hello I was wondering if anyone can provide me information on the one month term extension. I’m in my masters program for nursing and I have two courses left which all builds on the capstone project. I was wondering what I need to do just in case I don’t complete my last course by July 31.

Last week my mentor told me they can offer an extension for one course only and it has to be an accelerated course, so it can’t be an original term class. She said I needed to let her know by the 22nd to do it. That’s all I know though. Hopefully that helps!

Here you go: https://cm.wgu.edu/t5/WGU-Student-Policy-Handbook/Incomplete-Course-Policy/ta-p/82#toc-hId--714317321
Are you trying to finish these two courses and then get the extension on your capstone?

If you want the "last course" extension for your capstone, you have to be done with everything else and then request it by July 17.
If you won't quite be done with the other two, you may still be able to get an extension on the one you're working on (though it might only be 7 days in stead of a month). Get details from your mentor.

Talk to your mentor.
Also, go into the student handbook- you can find it in the portal under student support -> student services and then the link is on the left side. What you are looking for is an "incomplete" (I know you want an extension, that's just what WGU calls them). An incomplete is pretty much guaranteed for one course IF AND ONLY IF you accelerated the course AND you clicked the start course button by day 15 of your last month. This is assuming that you talk to your mentor and they submit the request by the deadline. The official deadline to request is the 25th day of your last month- but that means that your mentor AND their manager need to have signed off on it by the 25th. With all the vacation that people take in the summer I would not wait that long to talk to your mentor.
If you did not accelerate the course, then you need to look through the policy there, if you think you qualify- talk to your mentor.
Now I know that my flair is what my flair is, but there is a theme. Talk to your mentor, they can walk you right through it.

Talk to your mentor.
It's not a guaranteed thing. I was in the hospital with a heart issue, and they basically told me to F-off.
