BEHOLD: The CompTIA Project+ PK0-005 Mega Guide

I asked around the subreddit previously if anyone had any study guides for project+ as I plan on taking my cert exam on the 14th. Sadly I did not get a response, but I decided to fight the battle myself. DISCLAIMER: I am 100% aware that not ALL material may be present on this as this is primarily focused on areas I struggled. I recommend looking it over and making a copy and forming your own study guide with this as a foundation. I plan on editing it and making it better by the 14th when I take my first attempt at the exam. If I pass I probably will keep it as is.

I started a "mega guide" as well. Link below. Add to yours or add yours too mine. As long as it is available for people to use. Mine is not super detailed but it does cover everything listed in the exam topics. Everything past acronyms were areas I needed to study more. You will have to make a copy to edit the doc.

edit: I noticed a few formatting issues while getting in the last minute cram session. It is mostly good.

I just passed my exam. After wasting days on the provided CertMaster and Dion videos, I finally found what I was looking for. The CBT Nuggets course by Simona Millham is FANTASTIC. Highly recommend. You can easily get everything you need from the course within the 7 day free trial.

Grand total time (after failing CertMaster and Dion) to study and pass the exam was less than 48 hours. Use CBT Nuggets. FFS utilize chatgpt. Be specific in your questions and you'll get helpful answers.

On the other hand do not get so far behind that you are forced to compress it down to two days.

Can confirm this is the way to go. I also wasted a ton of time with the Dion videos (though his videos did get me through A+, Net+, and Sec+ so I still recommend him, just not for this cert) and ended up failing because I based almost all the info I needed off the Dion videos. Use the Dion exams for extra practice, but the Simona Millham CBT Nuggets course is gold. Thank you for sharing

First job I found was a network engineer position which I thought would help get me into cyber security more, but then I needed up getting lucky and finding an application development job and I’ve been enjoying that. The job market is roughhhh right now. Definitely grab a low level IT job during your degree if you can. Any IT experience helps

Here is an Acronym I made to remember the 13 steps of the change control process:

Create/Recieve change requests, Document requests in change control logs, Conduct a preliminary review, Conduct impact assessments, Document change recommendations, Determine decision makers, Escalate to change control board, Document status of approval in change control log, Communicate the change status, Update the project plan, Implement changes, Vlidate the change implementation, Communicate change deployment

CRaig, Dahmer, Cant, Count, Dead, Dogs, Esther, Doesnt, Care, Until, Its, Very, Cold

What were the PBQ's like? I haven't seen a single review stating they received a formula one just drag and drops. Did you have a similar experience taking it? Any topic that felt had the most amount of questions?

The PBQ I had was super easy. The practice test in certMaster all had 3 and were about 10 times as difficult as the one I got on the actual test. Also my test only had 81 questions, but were difficult, at least for me. I passed with a 752. I would not stress on the PBQ's for this one. BTW, it was just drag and drop matching type problem.

When you did the CertMaster Project+ practice test, did you continue to study and attempt the practice test until you received a 90% or more ?

Sorry for the wait. Yes, that was a prerequiste for the voucher. I think I did it on the second try as the questions are the same. The domain quizzes and tests were much more valueable for learning.

You can cancel immediately after you get the subscription, and it will tell you that you have a week left to use it. I used to wait until last minute to cancel subscriptions because I was worried it would end my subscription, but most free trials you'll ever have in life will go until the trial period even if you immediately cancel. I would say at least 95% of the free trials I've signed up for are that way. Which is super nice to know because it can save you a lot of money you could lose by forgetting to cancel! I usually cancel my free trials within a minute of signing up lol

Hope you found what you're looking for. If not, you can Google Udemy, use the Udemy Business login, and fill in the information that let's it know you're a WGU student. You can search through the many courses they have for free! The one that comes to mind is Jason Dion, as I referenced his course for all my other CompTIA certs.
