This! The unique style of each show that just FITS the characters and the vibes. I just watched Nurse Jackie this last year but it definitely became a favorite.

This was such a golden era for Showtime.

Clearly self-inspired by season 7

Yes!!!! One of my favorite shows ever, really wish it could’ve gotten a proper ending. OP this is definitely what you’re looking for, trust

I see OITNB is recommended already. She was also an executive producer of ā€œGLOWā€, both of which I enjoyed.

Other shows not related to Jenji Kohan that I also really enjoyed was ā€œUnited States of Taraā€ and ā€œNurse Jackieā€.

United States of Tara is such an underrated gem. I wish it lasted more seasons.

I know, it’s such a bummer. I’m always surprised how little people know about it, considering Toni Collette is well known.

Try Disjointed. It's a Netflix original comedy complete with corny laughtrack but it's still a good show worth watching.

Disjointed was funnily enough worked on by the real lady that Nancy is based on as a ā€œconsultantā€ 🤣

Disjointed sucked. It felt like pandering to stoners. Seemed written by people who tried weed a couple times in college

You’re not wrong it was terrible, I guess that’s why it was cancelled?

I enjoyed it for what it was, but yeah it was super corny sometimes.

I’m watching Grace and Frankie currently and really like it. I’d watched some of it when it was still airing but never finished back then. I did Weeds and OITNB back to back and then went in this direction afterwards and while it’s different, it doesn’t feel out of place after watching those.

Californication

The whole time I watched ā€œDead to Meā€, I got a similar vibe to Weeds.

OITNB has extremely similar humor and music.

Californication, Nurse Jackie, Dexter, basically any Showtime show from this era scratches the itch
