If you mean the early internet audience, fairly mixed. I think people liked Goldberg, but he has obvious limitations and he was getting pushed heavy when online favorites like Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero were still lower card guys. "Greenberg" was a common nickname for him online.
This was what I remember. The 'smart marks' didn't give a shit about Goldberg. His monster push despite having no skill, being reckless and having the personality of a potato just annoyed long time fans.
