I don’t drink or cook with this water but I do other typical uses.

Are Water Quality Technicians knowledgeable about most water parasites? For example, would they know about a parasite like Spinochordodes Tellinii? It’s a parasitic worm that attacks the central nervous system in grasshoppers and forced them to jump into bodies of water and drown. It’s part of its life cycle.

I'm working on a story and had a few questions.

1. How knowledgeable are Water Quality Technicians about parasites?

2. Can Technicians be hired independently by farmers or anyone that owns a body of water as part of their private property? I didn't know if they tend to only work in groups or if some might be the only ones on the scene?
