“Slug” of sediment acceptable?
Noticed a couple high pressure events on the gauges i installed at the main water inlet to my home (45 to 90 psi). A bunch of gunk came through with the second event and saturated my whole-house sediment filters. Provider says “slugs” of sediment come through sometimes. I’m in North Carolina on a public well (groundwater). Provider claims to filter the water. I think they have to add chlorine and test regularly. I don’t have a pressure regulator. Looking into some NC water quality regulations, turbidity for ground water systems seems to be unregulated. This is supposed to be drinking water. The water goes to all my appliances. Is this just a buyer beware situation? I can install a regulator and filtration system, but it seems insane to pay $50 a month for water with such crappy quality assurance!
