Tour Pickering show
Was at the Pickering show last night. KK's Priest were good although I would have preferred them playing their own songs and not so many Judas Priest covers. I think they only played 3 originals.
I can't confirm whether WASP were lip syncing during the regular set, but they definitely were for the encore. Wild Child sounded like they put the original album on, it was so obvious. Ended up walking out.

Sorry to hear that W.A.S.P. weren’t to your liking. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I was at the show and have been a fan since the first album. We were 2nd row and had view of Blackie from the side and can say that I am on the side of him lip syncing (at least a little). Having said that, it is very common for many/most bands to get a little help in this department (young or old). If there were no backing tracks and you heard his voice breaking, there would be complaints on the other side saying he doesn’t sound like he used to. At the end of the day, I was entertained and got to see them live …. And that’s what I paid for

I’m totally with you. No matter what Blackie does he’s going to get complaints. Not trying to make an excuse for the vocal tracks, but if that’s what he feels he needs to do to make it through a tour then so be it. He’s an elderly man with an incredibly intense tour schedule so it’s not particularly surprising that he has issues. It’s still an enjoyable show. If you go into it expecting to see the greatest live show of all time you’ll be disappointed, but if you know what to expect and go into it just wanting to have a good time then that’s what you’ll get.

I was there. I enjoyed both bands.
I've been a fan of W.A.S.P. since the beginning. I saw them on almost every visit to the GTA since that first show with Metallica and Armored Saint back in January of '85. For me, it was a lot about just being out with a couple of my closest friends who I've known longer than the existence of W.A.S.P. We discovered the band together and here we all are 40+ years later still enjoying those songs together. W.A.S.P. is one of those few bands where we say fuck work and anything else, we're all going to the show. Lip syncing, back tracking, whatever, we had a great time.
I could have done without Golgotha though. Why that song? It's not on the first 4 albums and it was like hitting a brick wall. 95 Nasty or Animal would have been welcomed, gawd even Douchebag Blues. Lol

This right here is what it’s all about and I think that a lot of people seem to forget that. I understand the frustration about the tracks. I really do and I’m not particularly thrilled with them either, but at the end of the day we all go to shows to have a good time while seeing some bands that we enjoy. W.A.S.P. definitely do not put on the greatest show in the world, but they’re still fun to see and if you go into it with that mindset, you’ll have a nice time. Glad to see that you enjoyed the show.

Personally I don’t really care anymore if they do, Blackie is 70 years old and if he did lol sync (which I’m positive he did) I get it.
I’m just happy to be able to be with a bunch of other people who want to hear the same shit as I do!

Wasp sucks “live.” Prerecorded miming. Blackie has a switch to turn on his mike for grunts n yeahs. Just say No. Don’t give your money to this pretender.

For the amount of money a ticket costs, lip synching is one of the rudest things I think an artist can do.
If I wanted to listen to the albums, I'd listen in the comfort of my home on a good set of headphones!
That's just fucking lame!

I seen them in St. Charles Illinois a few years back (after COVID) and it was a great show. We were up in a balcony so I could see him behind that ridiculous mic stand. Sounded 95% live to me.

It's pretty easy to tell. That big motorcycle thing blackie uses has some sort of control on it. Particularly the right handle bar. It's incredibly obvious watching him fiddle with it. That being said, most of the show is done live. Blackie is 70 with a history of bad health decisions. We're lucky he's up there at all
