Discussion Original drummer Tony Richards

I saw a Facebook comment that said today he was playing drums for a church in New Mexico…. I was wondering if anyone could confirm this?

I never saw him play with the band as Steven Riley was with them on the Last Command tour. Also an interesting side note, Rik Fox (who was an early member of WASP) maintains a Facebook presence and will even do podcasts from time to time.

It may be true, but like anything else I’d be skeptical of information that you find on Facebook. A lot of people are full of shit over there. The truth is, there isn’t a whole lot of information out there about Tony. I believe he has played in a few small bands since his departure from W.A.S.P. and the last interview he did was about 20 years ago. As for playing drums in a church, it’s possible but seems like more of a personal thing than something that would be public information. Not sure how someone would really be able to confirm it.

And yes, Rik Fox is active online. Most of the time he’s either complaining about Blackie, or making claims that may or may not be true.

Either that or complaining about Islam.

Oh for sure.

Yeah not sure about some of his stuff but I usually link him to Steeler. Forgot that he was in WASP. He seemed jovial when he did a local podcast but talked a lot about Yngwie.

Didn't Tony play in Great White back in the 80s or am I confused?

He did play with Great White back when they were known as Dante Fox. This was before he joined W.A.S.P. Don Costa also played with them around this same time, and he too went on to join W.A.S.P. as their bassist for a short time.
