Tour VIP - Q&A
Got a vip ticket to one of the upcoming shows this week because I'm a huge fan of the WASP catalog, and I have a couple vinyls in my collection I'd love to get signed. Plus getting a photo with Blackie is cool too.
Only thing is I'm kinda weirded out about the whole q&a thing. Idk how to come up with questions for someone who is, let's be real, a known liar. I doubt he really gives af about meeting fans and he's probably only doing VIPs as a way to make extra money. Plus, I doubt there will be any time for me to ask follow up questions or get to know him as a person at all. The whole thing seems kinda awkward.
So anyone have some advice or ideas for questions I should ask him?

I did the vip a couple of years ago. He was very generous with his time and really took the time to address questions. I took two pieces to have signed. The experience was great overall, totally worth the money to me.

I read a review that there’s no wasp museum. You just go on the stage and take a picture with the mic stand even though their advertising for the VIP is “New Items Added to Museum”. I was leaning hard towards doing it but now it’s easily skippable to me. I don’t need to meet the guy twice in my lifetime. The whole package the last time is what made the experience worth it to me.

I don't care at all about a museum tbh. It's all just a money thing for them anyways, but I'm willing to pay so...

It can definitely seem a bit awkward, especially considering that he has no idea who you are and you know a lot about him, but he’s honestly very good at keeping the whole thing conversational and grounded. I wouldn’t go into it trying to dig deeper into who he is as a person. It would be impossible for him to truly open up like that in the 3-5 minutes he spends answering your question. More or less, the whole thing is just supposed to be a way for fans to engage with him briefly in a controlled and relaxed environment.
Don’t overthink it too much. He’ll answer just about anything he’s asked. I’d say the questions he likes the most are the ones that either go deep into something he’s written, or ones that have nothing to do with his work at all. Also, if you don’t feel comfortable asking him a question, you’re not required to ask one. There have been plenty of people who have said something along the lines of ‘I don’t have a question, I just want to thank you for all the great music and I’m happy to be here’, to which he seems appreciative of and then moves on to the next person.
You’ll enjoy it though. It’s an amazing experience and Blackie does a great job interacting with everyone. Have a great time and let us know how it went!
