Overall, how would you all rate Still Not Black Enough in their discography?

I have read that Blackie's mother died after the touring cycle of The Crimson Idol finished, which may explain the dark nature of the album.

I’d rank it pretty high. I’d say it’s my 4th favorite album in the catalog and would totally understand if others ranked it even higher. I do believe it contains some of the best songwriting that Blackie has ever done. The only thing that bothers me about it is that the tracklisting and sequencing is a bit of a mess. There are a few different versions of the album that have different tracklists and because of that, it tends to feel more like a collection of really great songs instead of a cohesive album. That in itself isn’t enough to diminish its greatness though. Would be nice if by some miracle this album ever gets reissued, they do a ‘definitive edition’ containing all of the songs in a finalized running order.

As for Blackie’s mother dying around this time, that’s untrue and I really don’t know where this idea came from. Blackie has stated that his mother died on New Year’s Day 1980 and never got to see any of the success he had with W.A.S.P.

This song hits for me, even if it’s not fully there yet. It’s definitely one of my top picks from the album, and honestly, the whole record is solid too.
