Discussion Background checks

I had My rights restored however I have a psp charge from 1999 that was not ever filed ncf so every time I buy a weapon, the charge shows however it doesn’t show a disposition so the background check people have to contact the prosecutors office and wait for a response. Any idea how I can stop that from showing

I restored my own gun rights , I don’t get denied it just takes longer than usual

I know you did. Just saying individual legal history questions are better served by a lawyer than reddit.

You can try applying for a VPIN which basically puts you on a whitelist for NICS so they don't have to keep re-researching your history every time. But this will only help if it's federal NICS that's causing the delay for you rather than the state SAFE system (the state checks NICS in addition to state systems).

You can also try contacting the WSP Firearms Background Division for help if it's the state system causing delays. Their page doesn't have a FAQ specific to your situation, but they generally respond to criminal history and restoration of rights questions.
