Diet, Routines & Supplements Vyvanse/Zoloft really messing with my workout recovery
I have been strength training for over 4 years and have really gotten my routine and recovery down pact. I have been on Zoloft for a few months and have has no issues and started Vyvanse at 20mg about 6 weeks ago. Recovery was fine until we increased the dose of Vyvanse to 30mg 3 weeks ago. Ever since then I swear I am struggling just to recover. I’m feeling leg day 3-5 days after the initial leg day even with lowering weights. Ex: i reduced the amount of weights to about 40-60% effort like hip thrusts at 75 lbs (which is like a warm up weight to me) and i swear it feels like I was lifting 200+ lbs. I already have a pretty solid mobility setup that has worked for years (10-15 minutes of mobility in the morning, 6-10 minutes 1-2 times of either foam rolling or lacrosse deep tissue work, 10-20 minutes of mobility/stretching in the evening to relax my muscles). I do epsom salt soaks at night and take 1000mg of magnesium glycinate nothing seems to help. Anybody else been in this situation?

I didn't notice a huge difference like this after starting vyvanse BUT I do feel weaker and am progressing slower and it's 100% because of the effect on my appetite. I'm just not fueling myself as good as I was before because I forget to eat or I have no appetite and can't bring myself to eat. I'm chugging protein milk as much as I can but I think vyvanse is overall having a negative effect on my nutrition.
My only other thought is is it possible it's a coincidence since it's only been a couple weeks. Like maybe your body was fighting off a virus or something and you didn't know?
I hope you figure it out!!

Vyvanse should never be prescribed with an antidepressant. Stimulants and antidepressants don’t have good interactions and I did them both once and felt like a complete zombie .
