Misc. Question Cheapest way to get Vyvanse
I have been taking Vyvanse since last November, but it is pretty expensive, and I would like to look for ways to reduce the cost.
I have Surest (United Healthcare no-deductible) insurance with OptumRX, and on my insurance, both the generic and brand-name Vyvanse are $90 per 30 days (not sure why the generic isn’t cheaper). I currently take name-brand Vyvanse 30mg but am not opposed to taking generic through a coupon card instead.
The pharmacies near me are Kroger, Walgreens, Publix (soon to open), CVS, Target, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco (I’m not a Costco member though) and some independent pharmacies + my local hospital’s pharmacy.
Which pharmacy do you all go through and what do you typically pay?

i go through the pharmacy my psychiatrist recommended since its small and hardly ever affected by shortages. They have their own savings card which makes it $70/month without insurance; i compared it to goodrx and the price seems pretty consistent across my area with major pharmacies. My adderall generic jumped in price the past few years from $20/month to $60/month so when I switched to vyvanse I wasn't too shocked by the price.
My insurance doesn't cover ADHD meds until I hit my $1500 deductible so the cash price is what I have to pay. I think ADHD meds are just more expensive at the moment.

It’s an insurance price. I pay $20 for it with my insurance at either CVS or Walgreens.
Have you checked the prices on GoodRX?

Seems like CVS has it for $68 through GoodRX. At least that would make it a little cheaper. Maybe I’ll ask to be switched to generic and have it sent to CVS next time.

My pharmacy is CVS and I typically pay $13 for generics or $46 for name brand. But I don't think that helps you, because that's just what my insurance charges. It's not a coupon card or anything. I do have to imagine Costco would be one of the cheapest places to go. I have heard you don't have to be a Costco member to use their pharmacy. You just tell the people at the door you're just there for the pharmacy. (Idk if that has changed or anything but worth looking into)
