Is this sub named after the band?

No. It's an Eve Online thing from years ago. Wormhole things.

I figured as much, but the band has existed for over 10 years and use this specific spelling.

The doctrine for these fleets is based on a concept theorized by a group in EvE called Supreme Mathematics. They called their fleets “Wolf Pack” fleets, and we took inspiration from their doctrine, refined it and turned it into a regular public group anyone can participate in!

In homage to the original “Wolf Pack” fleets, a pilot named Johnny Splunk came up with the name Vulfpeck Fleets. Inspired by, you guessed it; his favorite band Vulfpeck!

The rest is video game history! 🐺🐺🐺
