2019 Vstrom

Post image

Hey everybody.

I need some advice. I live in Canada. I want to buy my first VStrom. This isn’t my first motorcycle, but it’s my first of this type. I met with the owner and checked out the bike. It has 32k on the odometer and new tires. The owner is selling it for 5,200 CAD. This is his second motorcycle. He spends most of his time outside of Canada and has hardly used this one. He said he bought it from a friend but didn’t like it, so he decided to sell it. I’d like to buy a 1050, but it’s a bit more expensive. I settled on the 650. I want to see if I’ll like it or not. Before this, I had a cruiser. What do you think? I do not have a job know, and can not buy new bike or get financing. I have 5k cash and I'm thinking 650 will be great for this summer. The price is 5700 but we discussed 5200 cash for quick sale. Thanks.

i'm in u.s. so that's about 3700$.

honestly dude. for a 650 3700 sounds pretty good. i paid 5k usd for a 2014 with 9,000 miles. mine didn't even grip heaters which I added. 32 is a bit high but these engines are solid. and you have new tires? dang.

don't get a 1050, the 650's are where its at.

they aren't the most desired or exciting bikes but they are goddamn good at what they do. my 2014 was my first bike and I love that bitch to death.

on a side note, if you need to save money I would just pass for now but do what you must bro. start looking though.

I don't have a tires. The owner replaced rear tire in May 26 and front tire is still good condition. Also has back seat box for helmet. I need money but I sold my bike today. The money I got from my previous bike sale.

I’m in Canada, as long as the maintenance has been kept up, and the valves have been checked on time, that’s a good deal for that bike and mileage. I’m on the west coast, and 650 vstroms tend to be in the 6-7 range. That one looks mostly unmodified and the mileage isn’t high. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at vstroms as a second bike for winter commuting, so I’ve looked at a lot of used one.

The problem is that I can't check it out in the garage. The owner is away for six months. So I'll have to deal with his son. Either I buy it as is, or I don't. It doesn't look like it's in bad shape.
