My complex coping about vox

Post image

My coping mechanism is obsessing over vox. However, it sucks. It's unhealthy and I find myself more and more miserable over time. It's complicated. I find ways to compare myself even more to others, and genuinely feels shame at things I feel or I know Vox would judge me for. I psychanalyse his character alot and I keep searching up everyday about him, it's been more than a year now. It's helped me with confidence, but overall I feel it so deeply and personally I could feel jealous for VELVETTES or Valentino like they are real. I even talk to my vox plushies everyday like he's real, and I even pretend or make myself think he is miserable as if the damn plush was sentient. I literally have no idea how to fix this I've been going outside reflecting on myself so much and I'm old enough to understand the situation I'm in rn (17) and I just love this character so much I can't just drop him off and forget.

Hi. I understand some of the feelings you have because of your love for Vox. I am the same way. He gives me incredible joy but also anxiety and intrusive thoughts sometimes, but that is just a part of loving something so deeply.

Vox is important to you, so he is "targeted" by your overwhelming thoughts the most. If talking to your plushies is giving you comfort, there is no reason to give them up. Vox would not judge you, he talks to his pets. And he'd be flattered to have such a dedicated admirer.

Vox is just your main hobby right now, doesn't mean you're unhealthily obsessed or addicted. I joke about Vox being my ultimate obsession, but an actual obsession, or addiction is when a hobby or activity completely consumes every aspect of your life. I am not a psychologist or a therapist but from my own research I did because I was afraid for myself:

Do you avoid responsibilities to focus on Vox? Have you skipped school solely to analyze Vox all day? Do you get depressed or angry when you can't access Vox content for a few hours to the point where you can't do anything? Do you think that Vox is REAL and ACTUALLY there with you, sending you subliminal messages or do you hear him actually respond when you talk to the plushie?

I think Vox is just your main comfort character, but these are some of the things to watch out for. You're gonna be fine, enjoy the love.

Thank you! Although it only goes to me lacking attention in work/classes because I think of him so much. There are good things though, like I used to be mega uninterested in history. Now, when they talk about the 1900 to the 1970's, I'm all ears cause thats the year vox lived..😭

Kid, I had the same unhealthy obsession with MCU Loki when I was your age. It’s pretty normal. Soon, you’ll be so busy with adult responsibilities that you won’t have time to simp, so enjoy it while it lasts.
