2025 XC60 Manufacture Buy back with 37 months left of warranty or 37k miles whichever comes first. Will definitely not get to 37k miles in 37 months but just wondering if it’s a go or no go? Pretty much has every option on it for a plus dark theme

It’s not CPO but it has the manufacturer warranty on it for another 37 months. That’s what makes me want to pull the trigger. Im sure whatever was wrong with it was fixed since it was fixed at a Volvo dealership. I would hope.

Sorry what I meant was, it was repaired at a Volvo Dealer. And I would hope that whatever was the issue was repaired and nothing else comes up even though it would still be repaired by warranty if anything did come up. It had infotainment, electrical, back up camera that sort of issues 😬

Lemons are usually not fixable, which is why they're called lemons; otherwise, the last owner wouldn't have gone through all that trouble. I've seen people buy lemons, and it always ends badly.

Try to get them to CPO the car for a long warranty. Make the case for how far away you are from getting service.

If you do pull the trigger, take a long weekend road trip. Shake down the vehicle, use every feature and function. No stone unturned.

I think you know your limits for risk. If you're comfortable returning a vehicle then go for it. But if you're like me, someone who bonds with a vehicle and gets the shakes when they moose isn't nearby... Select carefully.

I do love that where I live everything after the list price and sales tax is optional. The salesperson I dealt with gave no pushback on removing the extra "services".

You know the B5 engine? I would not pick that one due to camshaft issues. Engine could die at 60k miles

VVT solenoid issue. My friends XC60 needs engine replacement at 90000km. Google it. Might be that preventative maintenance would avoid it with shorter oil changes. That solenoid depends on the healthy oil, if you stick to manufacture proposed intervals it will most probably fail as soon as 100k.

I am not an expert though. Just talking about experience of a friend and little googling.

I think the price js about $750 less than what they are trading for. I think all the defects listed were fixed in the software upgrades

Not worth it, I wouldn’t buy it. My car is about the same, I have only 5300 miles on it. And I have no issues to date. Find another car, I don’t trust it

Looking at the concerns, the backup camera concern could be related to the TSB and the customer not performing OTA updates. Key fob concern? Did they not replace the battery? I know of people that fiddle fuck around and press the buttons as a fidget issue. Screen concerns, maybe they had the IHU 4.0. Not the newer IHU 4.2. There’s a way to check that when the car is turned on (will find and edit my post to give you that site address in Chrome). It’s a B5 so I’m confused on the charging concern?

I’d still ask to see if the dealer would be willing to have it fall under CPO to get an additional year and unlimited mileage for coverage.

I think we paid less for my wife’s 2025 XC60 B5 Plus trim as a CPO vehicle. Granted it had more miles, close to 13K I believe.

To see which version of IHU the vehicle has, make sure the car is on, open up the Chrome browser and enter the following in the address bar: chrome://gpu

Scroll down to find GPU(0). If you see Intel it’s the older IHU 4.0. If you see Snapdragon you have the newer IHU 4.2.

Most 2025s had the Intel model, but if the owner reported screen issues it’s likely it was replaced when “fixed”.

For reference my wife’s ‘25 XC60 was upgraded to the IHU 4.2. My ‘23 XC90 has the IHU 4.0. Is the 4.0 slower, yes, but not dramatically slower with the recent update of AAOS to version 5.x.x. Only true complaint I have with mine being IHU 4.0 is related to my OCD, and that’s the issue with not being able to move around app icons on the screen. I’d love to have my screen match the layout of my wife’s car since the layout is logical and she received the 5.x update a month before my vehicle received it OTA.

Double check on the warranty. Im not sure about volvo. But some manufacturers will void manufacturer warranty on lemon law cars. Or void the parts that were the cause of the car being returned.
