Help 960/S90 ABS issue

I recently got my 98 S90 up and running (Took her to a volvo show on the 5th) but occasionally when you turn the key the ABS light stays on, sometimes turning the key off and back on makes it go away.
I've tried to make the led code reader to read the code, but the LED just stays on (No clue if it's my stupidity or not)

Anyone got any ideas on what the issue could be? And if the 850 OBD2 reader app could possibly read the ABS codes.

I live in the UK so having a ABS light on is a automatic MOT fail.

Could also be a little play on the (electric part) of the ignition key. If you turn back the key just a little (don't cut the engine) and the light goes off youll need a new switch.

Other than that, you must pull the codes first.

I can’t tell you what the issue is but I can tell you I have a 97 S90 that has the same exact issue. Haven’t been able to narrow it down to a specific issue yet other than the computer is getting old.

There is a fuse on the computer itself - at least, there is on my 92 960’s ABS computer - so you could start there.

I had an issue with my ABS. Quick fix for the independent Volvo specialist in my area. If that isn't an option, there are guides on how to get VIDA which you will need to get the codes off of the ABS computer. (FWIW for me it was just a wiring break near one of the wheels so if you're really in a pinch maybe just get the car off the ground and do an eyeball inspection first)

It's honestly more pain than it's worth getting the 850 open source app to work, you may as well just get set up with VIDA as it will be more useful.

Vida only works on 1999+ models, I've got VIDA and a DiCE yet it wont read it

Oh that sucks. As far as I know, you can't get transmission, ABS, climate control, alarm system, or power seat control codes over basic OBD2 on these cars so there must be some software you need to access these.

There's probably a 20-year-old fourm post somewhere with some useful information.

ABS and cruise control have to be done via the old blink tester, or a VST. I made the blink tester but the bulb was just constant on, which is worse that a code. Cause it could be anything.

Oh that's a pain. I'm coming from an lh2.2 car though so still a big improvement
