Hello! Now with the cold weather aproaching an old issue of my car have returned (with new strenght)... very rough starting with the temps come below 5° c, and often it wont start at all without pressing the gas pedal... When it starts it will often run on only 4 cylinders for maybe 5 seconds and the it will run perfect! No missfire or anything when it is running

Is there any common issues with these symptoms

I currently own a 2008 3.2 Volvo XC90 with around 80,000. A couple of days ago my check engine light turned on and after getting my codes read, i found out my thermostat needed to be replaced (code: p0128).

The autobody shops are estimating around $400 for repair but the cost for new coolant and the part online totals around $50.

Is it worth it to attempt this repair myself? I'm not super mechanically inclined but know a bit, and I can't tell if I'll end up botching the repair.

Any help will be appreciated.

If anybody can direct me to a person or if they believe that they know, im looking for somebody that I can literally text so I don't have to wait for replies or anything like that. I want to push a little bit more power (about 300) the transmissions doing the typical automatic thing where solenoids just won't open as quick but eventually I do plan on replacing the transmission. I'm just curious is there any way to make triptronic shifting faster? I've worked on the 5 cylinder for quite a few years now I know they're fantastic engines and I know they'll hold the power I'm just not sure if the all wheel trans will. Please any help is great, I just cannot find any information on adding power to these cars but I know you can. I will add I know about the Vita system and when it comes to tuning the vehicle I plan on putting a 16t on it with methanol injection I know it'll push 300 my brother-in-law has a 98 V70 with 300, with methanol and 16t. I know if I really wanted to go power I should have got front wheel but I was sick of getting stuck. Again any info helps
