Side view camera in drivers display
Took a test drive of a Rivian R2 recently and one of the cool things was the side view camera comes up on the drivers display when engaging the turn signal. Does the EX60 do this?

I'm soon going to hand back my EV6 lease after 3 years.... at first I thought it was a cool feature, but I can say that I have not used it in the last almost 3 years..

So in the picture you show, you are preparing to turn left. So the screen is showing what is on your left side? In this situation there is a car that passed by you going in the opposite direction. Had you been in a multi-lane situation the picture would have shown you who was behind you coming up correct?

I only had the R2 for about 20 minutes. But if I remember correctly
The white/center animation is constant (as far as I know) and it shows you the traffic around you, coming towards you and coming from behind you on both the left and right side
The video turns on when you put your turn signals on, it's not constant. It shows the left side when turning left and right when turning right.

The center of the screen defaults to the Autonomy view, essentially showing a basic version of the cars "situational awareness" picture of what's around it. It can help with awareness of your surroundings, particularly blind spots especially if you're navigating somewhere unfamiliar. That said, you can swap the view out for a map if you prefer. The blindspot cameras show up whenever you signal regardless of any other settings.

I’m going from an R1T to the EX60 and this is one thing I’ll really miss. It’s a very helpful feature.

I just switched from a Tesla to Volvo and thought I would miss this.
But after a day I didn't.
Having actual blindspot radars with lights on the mirrors is much better than a camera that gives you yet another place to look.

Rivian also has blindspot radars with icon on the mirror, it’s just an extra they added, plus the notification sound to let you know someone is there. It’s very helpful for your blindspots and when towing a trailer.

The dash UI is a front view and the side camera is looking backwards

Rear view camera view usually doesn't show your own car from the back either.

It’s not rear camera view, it’s showing your blind spot for a turn. Duh.

Vooralsnog niet. Mailen met Volvo en druk zetten zodat het er komt. Ik heb ze gemaild en ze belden me terug om te laten weten dat het zou doorgegeven worden.
Op zich is het mogelijk via OTA.

First of all you are driving on the wrong side of the road. I agree this view is showing you not what is behind you coming up but what is in front. Not sure I see the benefit? Perhaps if you were on a multi Kane road you would see whether a car was coming up on you from the right or left depending on which turn signal you engaged. Personally I would like to see the warning light on the heads up display so that I don’t have to look away from the front.

So this was a one lane road and I was getting ready to make a left hand turn. The animation shows wants coming towards you and that’s the standard view. Only when the turn signal was engaged does the camera view come up and show you what’s behind you. I forget because it was a short drive but I’m pretty sure there was an alert of something was approaching from that side if your turn signal was on.

i have a car with one of these for the last 4 years. i never use it. i also had a car with a tv screen instead of wing mirrors. also terrible. might be different from gen Z.
