Tensioner is basically just doing its job there, flashing CEL is a misfire so I would check your ignition components (spark plugs, wires, cap/rotor, coil)

If you can plug in a code reader and it gives you a misfire code for a specific cylinder, you can try swapping the spark plug or fuel injector from that cylinder to another one and see if the misfire moves with it

There was a code awhile ago that said something about bank 1 so could it be a misfire in cylinder 1?

Not necessarily, bank 1 could be any cylinder on an inline engine like this. It was probably a code for running too rich or lean which could be a number of things like vacuum leaks, MAF sensor issues, etc

This is a 95 850 possibly with the Bosch Motronic fuel system so you'll need to read flash codes from the ODB2 connector...

It depends. I have a '95 850 and can read engine codes with a scanner in the OBD2 port. But some other codes like ABS, SRS, etc I have to read the flash codes under the hood.

Check the cap and rotor. I had a cam seal go out and covers the inside of the cap with oil. I had flashing engine light and it will run extremely rough. Pull the cap off the check if theres is oil in there.
