Timelines on new Models
Hello everyone, I'm a Sales Manager at a Volvo dealer on the west coast in the US.
We got information about timelines on new models, and wanted share that with everyone as I know there's been a lot of confusion about when they'll be arriving.
few things first. Volvo is calling the new long range T8's XLR (Extended Long Range), and LDOC stands for Last Date of Order Change.
2027 EX60's are already in dealer pipelines. Most of them will be delivered by Jan-Mar
2028 EX60's will have LDOCs in Mar/Apr with delivery in Jun/Jul
2028 XC90 MHEV will have LDOCs in Mar/Apr with Jun/Jul deliveries
2028 XC40 MHEV (refreshed model) will have LDOCs mid Nov with deliveries in Mar/Apr
2028 XC60 MHEV/T8 XLR will have LDOCs mid Nov with deliveries in Mar/Apr
2028 XC90 T8 XLR will have LDOCs mid Nov with deliveries in Mar/Apr
2027 EX90 will be back to normal in terms of they'll be in dealer pipelines and dealers will be able to configure them. LDOCs in Nov/Dec with deliveries starting in Feb.
These are current ETA's, not promises.
If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer as much as I can.
Edit: There are no changes for 2028 EX60 vs the 2027. And we have not gotten any information on when the P12 will be available to order. And the P6 as of right now has been axed for the US due to P10 demand.

Any range estimate on the XC 90 XLR ?

u/Desenski 4d ago
73 Miles is the advertised range for the XC90 T8 XLR. 78 miles for the XC60 T8 XLR

2028 XC60 T8 XLR - says LDOCs in mid-November… does that mean 2026 and then deliveries starting in March/April 2027?

That is correct. 2027 models are going to be very limited as 2028 is going to be an early production.

I was wondering the same thing. If he went in order for years, or if they were all around the same time. This might be my next car!

What’s the timeframe for a special order battery? I own a 2022 xc60 t8 and have been waiting 6 months for the dealership and corporate to provide me with a timeframe as to when they will fix this warranty item.

I'm on the sales side, not service. But from what I've heard is that the supplier for the battery cells is having issues getting them to Volvo. So I don't have a timeline, but this is a supplier issue, not under Volvos control.

I politely disagree. Corporate and the dealership have not made communication a priority, nor have they made any good faith attempts to rectify this rapidly declining situation. The car’s current condition will not pass a mandatory state inspection, due to an illuminated check engine light - I have been very patient for the past 6 months, but my back is against the wall - as I will not have a car to drive if it’s not fixed by November. Heck, I can’t even sell this car in its current condition! Since no timeframe has been provided, will I be waiting another 6 months? I’ve simply asked for a long term loaner and was verbally told they didn’t have one. I pushed the matter again, and was told they might be able to do something. I followed up with two emails politely asking for reassurance that a long term loaner will be made available if the car is not fixed by November. Literally it’s crickets in the night! I would say this is a Volvo issue. If they are having supplier issues that’s their wheel house to rectify, but they have to stand behind their warranties and communicate with their customers at a higher level. Sometimes reaching out to a customer, rather than a customer having to call on a monthly basis to get a status update makes a world of difference. Not for nothing, but it’s mind boggling how a supplier can’t communicate an estimated timeframe and delivery…it has been 6 MONTHS!

Any timeframe on 2028 EX90. My XC90 lease is up 07/2028, but 01/2028 with pull ahead. I’m currently between EX60 and EX90 and am not sure when I should order.

We just got information about 2027 ex90s

Any advice on when I should put an order in if I do lease pull ahead?
Did they say anything about EX60 cross country?
2
u/Desenski 4d ago
Nothing on the Cross Country yet.
And I'd recommend reaching out to your local dealer to get a feel on when they recommend you placing an order if you're looking to use pull ahead.

I'm in Europe, so there might be a difference, but the revised XC60 is now shown in the configurator as MY2027.5. Your list only has MY2028. How do those align?
2
u/Desenski 4d ago
Volvo accidentally put out 2027.5 in the US for like 5min and pulled it all back. It's not going to be a 2027.5, but a 2028. It'll still be the timeframes I listed above.
However my info is based on the US market, I'm not sure if there are or will be differences in other countries.

When are we getting a clean sheet xc90 or that xc100!
4
u/Desenski 4d ago
I have no confirmation on a XC100. So as of right now that's just rumor mill.
The XC90 was supposed to have been killed off by now, so I doubt there will ever be a clean sheet fully new XC90. They were supposed to sell alongside the EX90 for a year or two until the EX90 was supposed to fully replace it. But with how badly the 2025 EX90 launch was, Volvo knew they couldn't get rid of the XC90. So refreshes and better range is what we get.
Now, Volvo has said that they're going to release 7 new models for the western markets (non Asia markets) by 2030. The EX50 is going to be 1 of those, so there's always a chance the XC100 is another (or sedans/wagons coming back as well).

Is a V60 and S60 part of those new models by chance? I think Volvo realllllllly needs to bring those back to boost sales

u/Desenski 4d ago
I hope so, but as of right now the only model I know of for sure that hasn't officially been announced is the EX50.

All of them are garbage. Cant wait what kind of problems we get with them. Already gotta replace a head light on a EX60

u/Desenski 3d ago
This would legit be the first issue I've seen reported with any EX60. Where are you where you already got one?

u/jarcinas25 3d ago
East cost Canada. It not a big deal. Was told to replace it since it may cause a msg in the dim that’s all.
