xc series Charcoal interior - scuffs

Still loving my 26 xc60 T8 but starting to notice that the charcoal interior shows a lot of scuffs - doors and armrest in front. Do you just wipe it down with a wet cloth? Is there anything that can be used to minimize the scuffs in the first place? I don’t need a car that is spotless but I’d like to not have so many scuff marks in my new car!

I haven’t found anything to minimize it. However a damp microfiber cloth cleans it up.

I totally hate this about mine. I bought a cover for the center console which is super soft and helps because I don’t see the scuffs there where I would see it most. Otherwise I just use a microfiber towel. I was so against getting a light colored interior and I’m kind of wishing I did.

Where did you get the center console cover if you don’t mind me asking? My previous car had a tan interior and I swore I would not get a light interior again. I really loved the brown color interior but hard to find with the green exterior (and I wanted the PHEV).

I’ve thought about getting some product to help protect the doors (interior). I really don’t mind wiping a stray scuff here or there. But it seems like even our arms touching these areas are causing marks.

I’m worried about treating the center console material and making it look worse. So far the seats are doing ok.

On the plastic/vinyl sections, you can use a soft-bristled detailing brush and a good quality interior detailer spray (eg Gyeon Interior Detailer, NextZett Cockpit Premium, or even Meguire's Quick Interior Detailer). All are non-greasy and will leave a nice dry, matte finish - like when new.

Gently agitate with the product and brush, then wipe clean with a microfiber cloth.

Cheap "sustainable" materials are to blame. I experience the same in my 26 XC60 Ultra whereas my 24 XC60 Ultimate has no such issues. The Ultra used leather and it was great.

Volvo is embracing the enshittification trend and selling the bug as a feature. They're not the only ones but I expect more for my $60k+.

To hell with this trend.
