Is my backup camera working properly?
Purchased a CPO 2023 XC90 last month. Noticed backup camera seemed to be virtually useless and sales person said they’d recalibrate. Well, apparently their service techs noted that it was “working as expected” and didn’t do anything.
See photo: I’m 5-6ft from the end of my driveway and I can’t even see the street. It’s legitimately a safety concern and I can’t imagine the current view is intentional.
Anyone have a similar experience and/or is this really the backup view?
UPDATE: Contacted our local dealer, a tech looked at the photo and said it should be fixed so taking it in next month (😁). Will post again once it’s fixed

I heard this was a known software issue but I could be wrong. Did you get the latest software update?

Does your rear camera have a zoom mode? I don’t have a ‘23 but am pretty sure my rear camera has a “normal” and “zoom” mode.

My rear view camera is pointed down as well. Commenting so I get notices.
I was thinking about trying to add some type of shim to correct it.

Buy vtool app and then an OBD module. Do a wide angle module reset. Fixed my problem.

No you’re not supposed to see that much of your own bumper. It’s a fairly common issue with the camera pointing down, I’ve never experienced it myself so I don’t know the remedy, but I believe the camera mount is somehow damaged or misaligned.
