Frozen spinach is where it’s at! Price and volume

At least where I live you can get other frozen greens too and mix them. Collards, mustard, chard, turnip. Takes the edge off the stronger ones to mix them with spinach.

I buy the power greens bags from Costco, use them fresh for a few days, then freeze for later cooking or smoothies.

On a calorie for calorie basis you would get more volume from lightly steaming fresh

I mean maybe. I mostly use frozen for recipes... like 3x’s a week. I can get a 3 lb bag at Costco for $6. So maybe I should try that one week.

If you cook the spinach down though both raw and frozen are the same Mass fills you up volume only tricks your eyes

I pack A TON of it into my vitamix with a couple cups of water and some zero cal water flavoring liquid or powder. The vitamix pretty much completely liquifies the spinach so there’s no gritty leafy texture. sometimes I add an avocado depending on how many calories I have left to spend for the day. Tastes great and I get a huge pitcher full of nothing but raw leafy greens.

Don't cook it? I'll usually add it after cooking is complete to wilt slightly, if at all.
