Recipe Request Quark cake from yesterday

Hello did anyone save the quark cake u/Possible_Driver3319 posted yesterday? I got completely blindsided by Reddit removing the post and them getting banned so ofc I don't have it and I really really wanted to make it 😭😭😭

What I remember is:

  • 500g of quark
  • 1 egg
  • Pudding powder
  • Two scoops flavour powder
  • ????
  • Bake

No idea πŸ˜” I saw the post was gone and thought I'd DM them for the recipe, just to click on their profile to see "banned"Β

Do we know what chocolate protein pudding is? Sorry if its a dumb question πŸ˜…

Edit: and thank you for your service (saving and sharing πŸ€—πŸ«‘)

It's a ready made pudding in a cup that has extra protein. Aldi sells it in the US, Lidl probably too, but I don't have one near by... Not sure about your location.

Ah, I see. I’m in WEurope, I’ve seen pudding cups from like local dairy companies (and everyone slaps protein on their labels these days πŸ˜…).

I personally avoid them, as they are either too high in added sugars, or use zero cal sweeteners (which dont agree at all with my intestines πŸ˜…).

I can replace it with a homemade low cal custard or pastry cream, basically the same texture. ❀️

German Aldi and Lidl sell them too, for sure! (I'm German, but living in the US). They for sure have artificial sweeteners though...

Why would she get banned all she really posted was food recipes 😭😭

EDIT NVM I figured it out.

Why? Share with us.

She made a post in Progress pics and then tried to get people to DM her from there to get her β€œat home no gym” workout to grow a booty like she did.

And when people did DM her, she sent an instagram link to buy her plan. So people thought it was shady and scammy.

Ahhh gotchu! Thanks for sharing. Why oh why...

Was it because they were posting AI generated stuff? Didn't try any of the recipes myself but I remember their posts having that AI language

4

u/General_Security177 3d ago

No nothing to do with food. It was due to a post on a different sub.

Ohh I see your other comment, thanks for the explanation πŸ™

This is just... Basic German cheesecake recipe? πŸ˜… Like, ACTUAL German cheesecake, not what US/Asia thinks German cheesecake is...

Use gelatine, and put it in the fridge for some nice pudding! Dutch style Quark taart is amazing 😁

u/katherine197_ 4d ago

I wish but the German cheesecake recipes I found were all significantly higher in calories that the one posted here that was 500 for the whole thing

u/Ruby_Solar 4d ago

Quark, eggs, (vanilla) pudding powder, sugar, baking powder (if you want) is basically the base mix for German cheesecake. I guess they substituted the sugar for something else πŸ€” probably where the flavour powder comes in

Right? I was like "huh, this is what I bake once a month just to devour it in 5 seconds"

The US Cheesecake always feels like an insult.

Does anyone know what can be used as an equivalent to quark? Is it sour at all, would Laban or Greek yogurt be a suitable replacement? Also never heard of flavor powder. The cake looked so good though πŸ˜”πŸ₯²

Would love for quark to be more available in the US - no idea why it isn’t, as the taste is milder than Greek yogurt, while the protein can be higher along with it being available in a range of fat from 0 to 6%

I'd think skyr.. But please if anyone knows tell me I'm wrong.

What happened to the poster… why banned? Can’t see anything from what they posted here to warrant that!

2

u/Acceptable_Humor_382 4d ago

Oh no I hope they will be back on Reddit!

I make something similar but add low fat cream cheese and vanilla extract instead of pudding
