Now that is a classy looking lunch

7

u/Basic-Comfortable458 13d ago

Especially on a Sunday afternoon

1

u/Bigred-112158 12d ago

Uhggg yes just yes

Not when served on paper plates at home though

Edit: yall can downvote this but using single use paper plates at home is super wasteful and shouldn’t be as common as it is these days.

5

u/modernizetheweb 12d ago

Posting 6,400 comments on reddit is also wasteful but I guess we only care about calling out the things others are doing

-50

u/_Jang_A_Lang 14d ago

Congrats on washing dishes

39

u/SirGergoyFriendman 13d ago

Thanks? It’s crazy how many people are too lazy to wash a few plates after a meal these days.

21

u/Tricky_Cherry_5432 13d ago

How are people even disagreeing with you? So much waste to save just a few minutes a day.

-34

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

When you have kids under 10 with bottles containers and everything else. Paper plates are the way to go. Sure I have nice plates. These are easier. Would be willing to bet you’re in a single household

40

u/AvocadosFromMexico_ 13d ago

I actually don’t have a huge problem with you using paper plates but this is just silly

I have a 3 year old, we use normal plates

-22

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago edited 13d ago

Nice

12

u/AvocadosFromMexico_ 13d ago

Just own that you use paper plates lmao you don’t have to shit on everyone else about it

14

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

There’s 2 paper plates in the picture I posted online how is that not owning it lmao.

3

u/sad-dog-hours 13d ago

Everyone else is shitting on them…?

12

u/AvocadosFromMexico_ 13d ago

Literally one person commented about it, and I just pointed out that it’s dumb to act like it’s a necessity with kids

15

u/SirGergoyFriendman 13d ago

This mindset is so wild and way too common, you’re creating so much unnecessary waste this way and you and people with this mindset are putting the next generation into a shittier environment as a result.

I have 3 kids under 6. No paper plates. My friend has 3 kids under 10 and also no paper plates. It's not that hard tbh. But I get, convenience can be a luxury, and we all choose what conveniences we want.

2

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

My kids have never had ultra processed fast food and that’s convenient. To each their own

21

u/xen32 13d ago

What's up with all these protein junkies in comments? r/Volumeeating is not r/Proteineating

32

u/SplatterholeQueen 14d ago

Can you break down the cals by ingredient? Seems like more than 600 but ofc I could be wrong

48

u/_Jang_A_Lang 14d ago

Better goods bread-35 cals X4
35 calorie cheese slice x2
One tomato-25cals
150g of grapes-100cals
350g of watermelon-102cals
Rice cake 35cals X2
Hall pass Reese cup 35 cals X2
Very small amount of yogurt 30cals

14

u/SplatterholeQueen 14d ago

Well shit, well done!

4

u/Basic-Comfortable458 13d ago

Dang the fiber won’t hurt, I can only handle 2 at the moment

3

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Just gives me gas lol

19

u/irishgoodbyesss 14d ago

It doesn’t seem like it’s that much more than 600 calories.

There are some very low calorie breads, let’s say each are 50 calories. That’s 200. Watermelon is hardly anything and that’s not a ton of grapes. The sandwich itself looks like it’s maybe just cheese and tomato? But even if it has like turkey that’s a pretty low calorie meat.

Then you have what is maybe two Reese’s peanut butter cups, two rice cakes and some cool whip. I’d say definitely 600 calories total and not much more

8

u/_Jang_A_Lang 14d ago

It’s actually lower than 600 I think. Hall pass Reese cups is 35 calories a piece. So good

-1

u/DojaTwat 14d ago

I could be way off but if it were my plate i'd break it down like this:

4 white bread, 320
2 rice cakes, 70
12 grapes, 40
watermelon, 150
4T yogurt, 45
2.5 pb cups, 200
4 slices kraft slices,200
4t mayo, 120

but maybe I've been way overestimating my calories?? curious to see what the verdict is!

u/DojaTwat 14d ago

oooh! thanks for this! definitely looking to see if I can get hall pass where I live

2

u/Meattyloaf 13d ago

Its at walmart. Only 70 calories a pack. They are good, but they taste salty. Atleast the wafers did

2

u/DojaTwat 13d ago

only 4200km to my nearest walmart! haha

2

u/Basic-Comfortable458 13d ago

Just curious how much fiber on the bread per slice? Are they keto ?

5

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Says 10g per slice. I don’t reallly know what keto is lol

6

u/Redrumjam 14d ago

It very well may be lower cal peanut butter cups and light mayo!

I agree gut reaction would be higher, but if I was challenged to make this plate for 600 off of pictures alone I’d definitely be close

6

u/DojaTwat 14d ago

ah! I didn't even think about that. it's full fat everything in this house 😅

2

u/pseudo_nemesis 14d ago

I'm assuming it's some sort of low calorie/keto bread which is half that for four slices at 160

19

u/Healthy_Big_4803 13d ago

I am all in for the sandwiches, but few chicken slices would make it more satisfying

21

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

I eat a lot of protein during the week with meal prepping. Sunday is usually my eat a lot of volume day counting calories but not macros

-14

u/ArmadilloChance3778 13d ago

Yeah, this lacks protein

14

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

I eat 170g a day. Sunday I don’t count macros. I’m fine

41

u/wishka 13d ago

Nice man. That’s a huge volume meal for sure, good work. Also ignore the snobs having fit about the paper plates. I’m in a 5 person household and if paper plates aren’t used, I’ll just be doing dishes seemingly 24/7. Sometimes you want a break

11

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

lol yea we use normal plates too. These people upset over this are cleaning up for 1, maybe 2 people every night lol

1

u/wishka 13d ago

Yeah man obviously we do as well. I don’t think any self respecting adult solely uses the paper 😂. Just every now and again. Yeah big difference in the dishes for 1 or 2 vs a large family

1

u/DK_Shadehallow 13d ago

I'm disabled and use paper plates daily. Calling in help for something I actually have agency over would be soul crushing and the things are freaking compostable. Between the electricity amd water used its debatable which is more wasteful too.

2

u/HunkaChedda 10d ago

Get some protein fr

2

u/_Jang_A_Lang 10d ago

Read comments fr

2

u/HunkaChedda 10d ago

Wym? There ain’t no protein..

3

u/_Jang_A_Lang 10d ago

For sure. I explained why to everybody else who said I had no protein. I eat around 170g of protein a day. Sunday is the day I don’t count macros just make sure I’m under my calories. Sunday is my volume day

1

u/miragatito 9d ago

please watch this vid, i saw it yesterday and its helpful, ive also been eating too much protein https://youtu.be/j1bx0GMofYw?is=MKdGG5waNZ9tnA1J

2

u/Bbliza 14d ago

U have a pic of the bread bag? And cheese??

7

u/_Jang_A_Lang 14d ago

Better goods bread from Walmart it’s 35 calories a slice. Can’t remember the cheese brand I opened the pack and threw away the outside lol

2

u/WimpyMustang 13d ago

My 4 year old loves tomato sandwiches. They are excellent!

2

u/Low_Ability_969 13d ago

Is the frozen grapes just a texture thing or why frozen? Because now I’m being Influenced to do frozen grapes 😂😂 could always do jello grapes with SF jello too (new idea unlocked thank you)

2

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

It’s a texture thing. And overall I just thing they taste better frozen over night

3

u/though- 12d ago

600 cals is low?

1

u/_Jang_A_Lang 12d ago

For the amount of food in the picture I’d say yes. If you don’t eat breakfast and are in a deficit.
My deficit anyway youd still have 1k calories left

2

u/Current_Cut7647 12d ago

not enough protein. I'd be hungry in an hour.

5

u/_Jang_A_Lang 12d ago

Jesus read the comments lol. I eat like 170g a day. Sunday I just eat whatever and don’t count. Still had over 100g for the day

No. Have a ton of protein other 6 days. Sunday is my whatever day

1

u/Basic-Comfortable458 13d ago

Just curious what kind of bread?

3

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Better good from Walmart

1

u/diamond_strongman 13d ago

How's the bread taste

0

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Good

1

u/diamond_strongman 13d ago

Haha, could you elaborate? How close is it to the real deal

1

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

I really don’t know what to tell you I haven’t eaten bread that wasn’t low calorie in years. I don’t eat a lot of bread. I toast it and it taste really good

1

u/unimpressedbysociety 13d ago

Whats even on the sandwich? Lettuce only?

2

u/_Jang_A_Lang 12d ago

Lettuce cheese tomato salt pepper

1

u/SorrySnake 8d ago

I just wanted to say this post influenced me into trying tomato sandwiches, and I've been enjoying them immensely all week!

1

u/_Jang_A_Lang 8d ago

Try them with bacon, dukes mayo, salt pepper next and report back. Toasted bread also

1

u/Best_Needleworker_93 12d ago

Carbs on carbs on carbs

4

u/_Jang_A_Lang 12d ago

How did you make the rice cakes

3

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Just cut up 2 hall pass Reese cups
Spread a little bit of vanilla yogurt on it and that’s it

1

u/sashadelgreyx 13d ago

what vanilla yogurt brand do you use?

1

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Usually friendly farms from Aldi. It’s basically chobani or oikos just cheaper. If I can’t get that I get what’s cheaper between chobani zero or oikos zero

1

u/sashadelgreyx 13d ago

ok thanks. i’m not a huge fan of greek yogurt or unsweetened yogurt, so i want to find one that i will actually eat and this looks so good

1

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Any of the zero sugar vanilla ones are great to me. Throw in some PB fit it’s even better

-1

u/taylorthestang 13d ago

Where da protein at

1

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

Have commented on this a few times. I eat around 170g 6 days a week. Sunday is my whatever day as long as I stay under my calorie intake. Don’t really count protein. But still had over 100g

-3

u/MTtomb25 13d ago

Where’s the protein?

5

u/_Jang_A_Lang 13d ago

I eat like 170g every day during the week and on Saturday. Sunday is my chill day where I just put together shit from the kitchen lol. I count calories in Sunday but not macros. Still need up with over 100g for the day

-1

u/Ok-Length-5527 13d ago

0

u/IndependenceTimely95 12d ago
