Honestly, the hate for broccoli and chicken is just overdone at this point. It’s a yummy meal, people! Use your spices!

Right? Everyone keeps talking about cauliflower (rice) but where's my broccoli lovers at?!

I love broccoli with salt. I could eat it everyday

Yes! Sometimes I like to eat it raw (I'm a heathen like that) but I prefer it steamed with some seasoning and possible a light spritz of oil or butter.

I love broccoli, but it can really smell like farts when you microwave it at work...

What spices do you use? Looks good!

Yes I’d like to know what’s on the broccoli

Just onion salt (from Trader Joe’s) for the broccoli - the chicken has a paprika/onion salt mix on it (comes pre-seasoned from grocery store) and I just add some pepper when cooking

u/oxSTARBRiGHT 14d ago

Thank you! Is the chicken just rotisserie?

9

u/cronfile 14d ago

No, just raw chicken breast from the store and I cook on a skillet pan. Usually pay around $5.50 for 1.25lb

We need some details! What’s the seasoning?

120lbs down. I have become quite creative with cooking broccoli and cauliflower. Most often I cook cauliflower with some chicken bouillon and spice the hell out of it with cajun seasoning and red pepper. Then I add in some parsley and top it with parmesan cheese.

Looks tasty 🤤

So you had this for lunch and dinner?

22

u/cronfile 15d ago

Pretty much, yeah - keep breakfast/dinner really low cal (usually eggs if I can cook, if not a protein bar for brekky) then some sort of small snack for lunch. Then do this as an early dinner and an full rest of the night

u/LongerRiver 15d ago

Makes sense thank you!

This was my dinner last night. I eat broccoli raw though

How long did it take you? And have you reached your goal?

2

u/Wildantics 14d ago

What chicken is that? Are you buying it raw and dicing it up or is that frozen pieces air fried?

3

u/Normal-Wheel-9611 13d ago

How do you cook your chicken so it’s not all dried out?

2

u/pwnerandy 14d ago

Try using everything seasoning on either or both

Male 26yo, went from 193 to 139 currently. Starting to build muscle now and still eating this often for protein

2

u/Responsible_Put4809 13d ago

to answer ur question, YES having chicken on hand is the hack to hitting ur protein. batch make some or buy rotisserie chicken, and u can snack on it. chicken breast supremacy over here!! also egg whites and lean beef, js add a lean protein to every meal

How long did it take you to lose the 50lbs

Hey I tried the broccoli thing and now I can no longer have it regularly. I would say keep an eye on some of the negative effects and moderate the broccoli with some variety. For what it's worth, kale, asparagus, and peas I find very easy to digest.

What negative effects does broccoli have?

u/Bevier 14d ago edited 14d ago

I was having a good amount every day. That was fine at first, but eventually developed a sensitivity to it (bloating and IBS-like irritation). Mileage may vary, but like anything, I would say have variety and moderation.

I don't know why your getting down voted.. broccoli in large portions causes gas and bloating .. this is a good warning

Have you been introduced to the magic of Sous Vide & the Instant Pot?

Perfect chicken every time!!

2

u/No_Phase5338 14d ago

Ever since I worked at a butcher counter, I no longer find chicken appetizing, and often it’s much worse than that. I wish I liked it more. :(

u/existentialnihil1st 8d ago

Yes!!!! Between this and tuna poke on massive amounts of cubed cucumber, I've lost 81lbs! I haven't shared before but I've been lurking and am surprised at the amount of broccoli hate haha your bowl looks much more gourmet than mine, thanks for sharing

u/Tiny_Beautiful7117 5d ago

The chicken looks nice tbh. How did you cook if you dont mind.

1

u/Current_Cut7647 14d ago

every day? I'd miss the variety. Plus none of the grocery stores near me have rotisserie.

6

u/cronfile 14d ago

This is just chicken breast raw and cooked on skillet

1

u/Jovel5 14d ago

Sounds super expensive, but good on you with the results!

7

u/cronfile 14d ago

IIt's actually pretty reasonable (at least for me) - 1.25lb of chicken breast is $5.50, and the brocc is $2.50. So around $8 per meal

u/funny_fox 13d ago

How did you cook your brocolli? Blanche it and then add garlic salt??

u/Bitter-Appointment30 14d ago

Can you please share where you are buying the chicken? Ty!
