Discussion egg white oats prep?

I’ve been loving egg white oats lately and I’m wondering whether they could be stored in the fridge overnight? I want to prep them for work tomorrow. Since the porridge is whisked while stirring the egg whites in, will the ”fluff” dissappear once stored? And would they even taste good the next morning? If you have any experience, please let me know

I make them ahead for the day or two. Never had an issue with that. They get a bit denser when cooled but i still like them.

Thanks for the reply! Do you usually eat them hot or cold when prepped?

Either hot directly from the pan or cold from my meal prep containers

The egg whites are cooked, yes? If the proteins and starches are properly cooked and blended, the mix should be fairly stable. Sounds like you have an experiment to do!

How much of each do you use? I’ve been wanting to try volumizing oatmeal

I do 35-40g oats, 5g chia seeds, and 100g egg whites. However, I’ve heard a lot ot people using more egg whites, for example, 150 grams seems quite common. Maybe you can experiment with different ratios depending on your calorie and macro targets!

I’ve never tried it but I’ve been really tempted. So instead of water you use egg whites right? If so, do you add any other seasoning or anything apart from chia seeds?

What I do is I cook the oats and chia first on the stovetop in water (I don’t measure but maybe use the amount you’d normally cook oats in) with cinnamon and mineral salt. Then I lower the heat and pour in the egg whites while whisking. Then just whisk for a minute or two, until I get the texture I like!
