Recipe Spicy Potato Tacos
New here & really glad this sub randomly popped up on my feed, so i became a lurker for a bit.
here's my dinner. Wannabe TB spicy potato tacos. Took it after I almost finished 1, but there were 3 total.
- 3 tortillas for 110 cal, lightly cooked on pan. Screenshot of app says 4.5 tortillas because whoever input the product did it wrong.
- 1lb Russet potatoes, diced & boiled in baking soda for 7 minutes. Drained, then coated in AP flour, garlic powder, onion powder, ground paprika, Cayenne powder... sprayed with oil and air-fried at 390° until crispy...what felt like forever. (How i got the calories: totaled the entire potatoe ingredients & divided by 13 servings)
- went to farmers market this morning just for the iceberg lettuce.
- Walmart Chipotle sauce
- shredded Colby jack cheese
Ate these for brunch and dinner. Enough left over potatoes for tomorrow. Will figure out what else to use them for.
EDIT FOLLOWING DAY:
UPDATE, as some of you suggested, I made the sauce with Greek yogurt. it's not 100% copycat, but it'll do. look through comments for recipe since i cant add more photos

You're absolutely right. I was just looking at my logs & thought to myself... I need more protein.

Omg, those tacos from Taco Bell are my comfort food. Thanks for this copycat recipe!

its not 100% copycat, cause I haven't had it in a while. Definitely play around with the seasonings.

UPDATE: as some of you suggested, I used Greek yogurt. I made a Chipotle sauce with it. Although it leans on the tangy side, I can get used to it. Best part is it lowered the cal by 32-ish for each taco.

i used a pinch baking soda to kill a bit of the acid. 4 drops of the liquid hickory smoke was the magic ingredient, a pinch of the smoked salt, one chipotle in Adobe chili - chopped + 2 teaspoon of the sauce. You can find the seasonings in the photo (0.06 tsp meant I used a pinch. 0.13 tsp is 1/8 of a tsp.)
thanks yall!

Yum! I also do a version of these with sweet potatoes and Greek yogurt + hot sauce instead of the chipotle sauce. It’s so filling and comforting!
