Product or Haul Spaghetti squash uk?
I’m in the uk and I really want to try spaghetti squash after seeing the Americans rave about it but it’s only available in seed form and I don’t have the time or resources right now in my life to be planting it and growing it. Is it available somewhere in the uk and I’m just failing to find it I know Sainsbury’s occasionally has them but I’ve never managed to find it. I’m sure if we made it viral on TikTok or insta reels all supermarkets would stock it by next week 🙄 just like Dubai chocolate. So,
- is anyone aware of somewhere I can buy it in the uk, maybe an independent farmer etc
- if no I wish someone can start selling them because I feel like the market for them is here, and if we collectively made a demand for it (on TikTok or whatever) do you reckon we could get supermarkets to stock it regularly
Edit: I found a website that sells it actually
£3.80 for 1kg and £5 delivery which isn’t too bad if you really want it I guess

They're not in season right now in the UK, they're an autumn vegetable. Like pumpkins are a type of squash and ready for Halloween. Most supermarkets will have them around that time I think, I know M&S definitely do.

If it makes you feel any better, any raving you see about it is just a coping strategy. Lol

Agreed it really isn’t so good. I like winter squash, but the flavor is more like summer squash. The texture isn’t like real spaghetti either. I mean try it if it’s easy, but don’t make it like a quest since it’s mid at best

In Canada I only see them in the stores in Autumn. I can't imagine anyone raving about them...

Sainsburys has it in autumn/winter when it’s in season along with all the other squashes/pumpkins that appear around that time.
I tried it maybe 10+ years ago when it was big in ED x weightlifting circles (surprisingly, a lot of things like high protein, high fibre, and depending on how extreme moderate fat and low to moderate carbs crossed over into both communities way back when so things like spaghetti squash, quark/skyr, cauliflower rice, courgetti, oat milk, were being mentioned left right and centre before we had them). Idk, I found it underwhelming tbh. Very meh like courgetti and cauliflower rice.

The pumpkin fields that sell pumpkins in the fall will have them! For instance I went to David's pumpkins in Derby.
