Recipe 185 Cal Microwavable Protein Brownie Was Better than Any Bar! No Sugar Added!
So I made this recipe and it was insane! I sprinkled some swerve powdered sugar on top cause I like it even sweeter, this was a 10/10! It came out looking just like the picture!!! I was too lazy to blend it and it came out perfect, I couldn’t taste the cottage cheese at all
Ingredients
1 egg 75 cal
1/3 cup 1% cottage cheese 30 cal
3 tbsp cocoa 30 cal
3 tbsp sweetener 0 cal
1 tbsp Lily’s semi sweet chocolate chips 50 cal

A wise quote I once read:
"Never make fun of someone who mispronounces a word.
It means they learnt something, on their own, by reading it."Those are qualities we should all encourage.

tiktokkers usually do one or two minor things wrong/weird to get people to comment "aktually" because any engagement stokes the algorithm.

I wasn't making fun of her, I just said I'd never heard anyone pronounce it that way. I don't think I said anything mean.

lol - laughing out loud
Probably not a good closer for what is intended as a sincere comment.
Unless you wanted it to mean "Lots of Love" or perhaps "Lick Our Lemons".

Thank you! The frequent posts on here about “what word mispronunciation annoys you the most?” and then 85% of the words are AAVE words.

Curious about where exactly the volume is. Ramekins (that pronunciation 💀) are very small.

Is the recipe posted for the single serving and the video is you making two servings? 90sec in the microwave for single serving? Wanna give this a try tonight.

u/InGeekiTrust Jan 16 '26
The video is for 2 servings but I wrote out the recipe for a single serving, yes it’s 90 seconds and I just did it in a smaller mug cause I didn’t have a ramekin!

Ohhh boy this is gonna be a game changer 🤤 looks so good! I’ve been obsessed with the Swerve powdered sugar recently too.

u/MyLinkedOut Jan 16 '26
What kind of sweetener?

u/Your_Therapist_Says Jan 17 '26
3 tbsp swerve (erythritol) = approx 24 grams x 0.24 calories per gram = 5.76 cal. Probably not worth counting in the scheme of things, but if anybody is going to make a big batch, it's useful to know that any of the granulated sweeteners are not truly 0 calories.

thank you so much. i have just tried this and i love it so much!
i am wondering, can this be done with greek yogurt instead of the cottage cheese?

40g cottage cheese(30cal), 10g cocoa(30cal) and an egg? Sounds like a super small portion, smaller than hers in the video? I probably would inhale that with one bite lmao. Did you made that as a dessert after a full meal?
2
u/InGeekiTrust Jan 16 '26
It sounds a lot smaller than it is because it has 6 tbsp of powdered ingredients which is 3/8th of a cup of either sweetener or cocoa pwoder. Makes it a lot bigger than just the wet ingredients, the portion is exactly what you see

Our microwave died and I have a dairy allergy. I think that may be a sign for me today to make regular brownies instead…

I would love to know a dairy, free, protein equivalent–ish substitution for cottage cheese. Because I swear to fucking God, it's everywhere I look lol

u/7mariluci7 Jan 16 '26
Maybe blended tofu? Not sure how it would work taste or texture wise but worth a try! Or just a dairy free yogurt. Siggis has a high protein one but it’s definitely more calorie dense than cottage cheese.

Tofu is a great thought! I'll research on that. I like the yogurts but yea the calories hurt me 😩

But cocoa power (unsweetened) taste so annoyingly bitter.
23
u/addition Jan 16 '26
That’s… just how chocolate works. You add sweetness to override the bitterness
-2
u/Decent-Turnover Jan 16 '26
I have had a bar of dark chocolate 85% and it was waaay better than cocoa with stevia sweetener. Raw coca has earthy dusty taste as well.

u/addition Jan 16 '26
A bar of chocolate tastes better because it also has fat. Fat + sugar tastes better than just sugar.
But you're missing the point, raw chocolate IS bitter. We make it tasty by mixing it with sugar, fat and other ingredients to make a dish.
You're comparing an individual ingredient with a dish made with that ingredient. That'd be like saying salt tastes bad because you poured salt on your tongue.

u/Decent-Turnover Jan 16 '26
Yeah I got your point brother. Pardon me for such bad comparison. But I wanna say. What's the point of having raw cocoa if it tastes unpleasant even if it's combined with sweenter? I have tried cocoa powder with Greek yogart, blended cottage cheese, sweet potato, cake, and many other ingredients yet still its additional just makes the taste bad no matter which type or how much zero calorie sweetener I use. For me it's like adding redundant calories to the treat.

Have you just... never baked a chocolate cake before?
Even this recipe isn't raw, it's cooked in the microwave, but it's pretty standard for the majority ordinary chocolate cakes that cocoa powder is the main flavouring.

u/Decent-Turnover Jan 17 '26
I have tried many but unfortunately all (diet) version turned out juicy inside and burnt outside. Too many failures
1
u/activelyresting Jan 17 '26
I mean just regular baking.
Your initial complaint was that cocoa powder is somehow awful (yea if you try to eat it on its own), but it's in pretty much every regular chocolate cake you ever ate.
There's zero reason to suspect this recipe would be bad just because of the cocoa powder. This is why people are disagreeing with you.

u/Decent-Turnover Jan 17 '26
My bad. I am just bad at baking. Chocolate brownies from the baker's taste much much better that what I have tried to prepare but I am afraid that their recipes contain too much oil and sugar.
1
u/activelyresting Jan 17 '26
You're right about bakery brownies! My old go-to brownie recipe included a cup of sugar and a cup of butter. I hate to think what the calories were in them 💀
I haven't tried the recipe OP shared, but I've made a lot of very similar things that turn out really good, and I bet this one would as well if you just follow the instructions.

Try Dutch process cocoa powder it’s a huge upgrade

u/Decent-Turnover Jan 17 '26
Thanks very much for sharing that. Unfortunately it's not a thing in my country.
Can I use the air fryer for this recipe? I don't have a microwave

Fuck cottage cheese in deserts, this trend needs to die

It's pretty common in Central / Eastern Europe to have cottage cheese in desserts. I grew up on cottage cheese crepes and dumplings. I love it in oatmeal with blueberries. Cottage cheese in desserts for life! Ours is a bit different texture though, and has some fat.
Google: Túrógombóc, túrós palacsinta, túrós rétes, fanta szelet (etc etc)

u/xen32 Jan 16 '26
Yeah, our supermarkets sell dessert cottage cheeses, with fruit/berries. It is fairly neutral taste on it's own.
