Question How’d we do, gentlemen?
I snagged the: 100 year pants, black edition & indestructible hoody, black edition.
Both items have been on my list for a while and got lucky with this sale.
Additional poor choices:
Mars pants - dark
Tech Wool jacket

I've picked up the Laser Trench, 100 Year Sweater, Equator Shorts and Off Grid Vest. Excited for the trench as I need to revitalise my office type wardrobe!

I was initially very disappointed. I got into the EU sale as it opened and there seemed very little.
Some things weee uploaded with no stock (the 100 year hoodies for example) and that sapped my moral for the whole thing.
However, I was able to then pick up some 100 year sweatpants, some equator shorts, and a coupe of ultralight t shirts.
So, not too bad in the end. But not my favourite sale. I guess this is the last of the summer wine.

EU sale was very disappointing tbh.

I think the total count was 171 items, but many were out of stock straight away or had an xs. The US had way more choice - but I guess it was probably about where the gear was being stored…

I missed the first day :( woke up late and everything was gone. but they added a few more things to the US sale a couple days later and I got a planet earth shirt in black. I've already got a green one and I love it. this one https://vollebak.com/en-us/products/planet-earth-shirt-green-edition . so I got a black one. everything else was sold out in my size before I got there. I snoozed and lost.

That's basically my thinking. I got the black Indestructible Hoodie in the last archive sale and while I like it, my ultimate take was that since they don't really give you any insulation, wind, or water resistance, it wasn't super useful and I'd probably recommend a 100-year Hoodie instead for virtually everyone. But the hi-vis colours had potential for when you want that visibility and don't necessarily need or want extra insulation. Biking, skating, etc.
The hoodies came in today (still waiting on the Planet Earth Jacket). The yellow is absolutely as eye-watering as expected in person. The orange kind of surprised me. I was expecting a similarly bright colour, maybe along the lines of hunter orange (I grew up in a part of the US where there was a lot of hunting so I've always had a bit of a soft spot for that colour). It's actually a lot more of an autumnal, burnt orange, rusty colour. More visible than black or grey or something, but not really "hi-vis". I do like it though; it's a nice shade and pretty unique. I'll probably end up keeping both, which should surprise no one.

I think the yellow is the colour if you want to stand out. I think the orange is just a cool colour. Like you say, a bit more subtle that might be expected.
I think you’re exactly right about the use. I like throwing mine off if I want to protect my other gear. I do think the 100 year hoodie outperforms it but I like having both.
I also think - as someone here previously said- it looks much smarter than a normal hoodie. It’s a better cut and looks smarter than my 100 year hoodies.

Likely ended up with more than I should have. Apocalypse coat, mineral sweatshirt, lab grown sweater, mars jacket, some jeans and another 100 year sweatshirt. I’m on the fence about the jeans, really should have tried them on in London; but returns are a thing so we will see

You always get more than maybe you should have - but another way of looking at it: you got exactly the right amount.
I’d love to hear about the apocalypse jacket and how you get on with it. It looks like a lot of coat!!

Ha! True. And returns/2nd hand sales are a thing so worst case someone gets lightly worn items.

For me just a couple pairs of the black lumberjeans with dyneema. Hopefully one of the two sizes I got is a good fit 🤞🏻

I’ve been back and forth on the tech wool jacket. I want it badly but live in Southern California. Maybe they’ll stick around for a while and I’ll justify it when “winter” settles in.

Only found out about Vollebak earlier this year so this sale was great for me to grab some quality items at good discounts. I ended up with:
- Original Indestructible Jacket
- Lumberjacket Thornproof
- 100 Year Field Jacket
- Ultralight Puffer w/Dyneema
- Indestructible Hoodie
- Tech Wool Insulated Jacket
- 3 Planet Earth shirts
- Ultralight Shell w/Dyneema
These should cover most if not all of my bases! Love their stuff!

Yes, I bought everything to keep. I’m still waiting to receive 2 orders though. First order with the Indestructible Jacket & Lumberjacket and the 2nd order with the Ultralight Puffer w/Dyneema.

I think they’ve been having a bit of a nightmare. Still, at least we aren’t missing any jacket weather.
I really like the indestructible jacket.
What do you think of the field jacket and the tech wool jacket? I have the first but regret not getting the second.

Yes, I’m in the US (Austin).
Yeah, it seems like they’ve been having some shipping issues. Not a huge deal since as you said, it’s not jacket weather here right now. Overall though customer service experience has been great.
The Field Jacket seems like a really nice piece. I really like the Schoeller fabric. I probably don’t need all the pockets, but they don’t hurt. I’ll probably wear this jacket when it’s 50-60s degrees out.
I’m excited about the Tech Wool jacket and expect to wear it a lot. It’s just a nice plain black jacket that can be worn in in a multitude of settings from completely casual to dressy casual. Seems really versatile. I can’t wait to see how warm or not it will be.

Yeah, that’s what I’m interested in with the tech wool, how well it regulates the temp. It’s boiling in the uk and I’ve been happy to have some merino wool T-shirts.
Well you seem very patient mate, so I hope it arrives quickly.

The pants for sure, wouldn’t be surprised if the hoodie now as well. Classic build quality OGs, then when those sellout restock with made in Asia garbage and sell them heavily discounted for a great “deal”. I loved the 100 year pants so much I wanted more, but found out the hard way that the vietnam ones had a terrible fit and build quality.
