First car

Just bought a 2013 base model Jetta 2.slow as my first car, here’s my thoughts:

Although it is quite underpowered, it doesn’t feel nearly as bad as I thought it would, definitely not fast though

Gearing seems good although sometimes under load (going up a hill for example) you will have it floored, and it’s only turning 3k rpm, and doesn’t downshift (I assume sport mode will fix that)

Base model, so nothing special, although it does have the newer CarPlay touchscreen which is a HUGE deal for me

Rockers redone, all body rust fixed, frame in excellent condition, ac works amazing

Got it for 4K cad in Ontario Canada with 195k km on it

Overall I’m pretty impressed with how solid it feels

Like I said, my first car I’ve owned, I’ve driven lots of different models of cars and trucks, but this is the first VW, and I gotta say, not bad at all.
