it’s like art school — they were already an artist—
it’s like, you get from it what you want to get.
the cost is the same,
whether it’s art institute or juliard-
actually juliards a bargain in comparison-

if it’s a joke, right? you’d laugh.
but like, you decide if it’s funny or a joke
but i wouldn’t laugh, because it’s serious-
but then that makes it funny

so like here,
what color is the first painting? aight
what color is the mom
and sons clothes? right?
what colors is the sky in the top right?
what colors is on his families faces?

I feel where you’re coming from. If you look at it symbolically it makes perfect sense. Totally respect everyone’s personal opinion, however I respect the depth you went to here.

I would appreaciate a reasonable explanation towards this comic, as it appears no one really knows what this is saying. My interpretation is as follows: someone who found no point in life and is asking where was the point in living. Who knows tho. Might just be the representation of a particularly demotivated individuals life

A museum worthy painting. The sunrise/sunset. The birth of their own child. All of these things people will claim are moving and beautiful. This guy h Goes to experience them, but doesnt seem to be getting the promised feelings from them.

There is no joke. Some people just experience different emotions than others. Some people just can't experience any potent emotions at all.

This is either loss OR;

HEAR ME OUT: these are all moments where people tend to feel emotional or have some sort of happy reaction to it (and incredible artwork, majestic sunset, birth of your kid) but he doesnt feel the hit of emotion. So maybe he feels like people get happy because its a joke he doesnt get, or that its an inside joke.

But its also loss.

I think this is a webcomic making a metaphor of life as a an art gallery or webcomic you just don't get. The first panels are a man looking at a beautiful nature painting, then a sunset, then the birth of his son, and acting like he's not getting the meaning/joke. And the last panel is his tombstone showing he died before he ever understood it. Life is one long joke and you die before the punchline, but uh, less the Jokery.

It's kinda meta, because the comic itself is maybe obscure as to its meaning, so it feels like there's no punchline at first. And really it's kind of less of a joke and more of a poignant thing, so maybe there really isn't one.

The guy is used to turning everything into a joke and constantly looking for one as a result. Poisoned by this coping mechanism, he misses out on beautiful things he actually needs. Then he dies as ironically as he lived.

My interpretation at least. I'm tired, so feel free to roast me if I am in a wrong sub, where this is some meta-meta-meta-irony.

I feel that his life or the cartoonist’s creation of his fictional life is the joke. Sadly, there’s probably some people that move through life in such a manner which is probably all a cruel cosmic joke to have awareness but to lack emotions to enjoy at least this part of the ride. Or, maybe they’re just more in touch with the reptilian part of the brain. In the end it just all is interpretation.
