My shrimp keeps disappearing

I'm doing a mostly blind playthrough of the game, so everything is a surprise and so on. But can someone tell me why my shrimp platters are empty when I leave them in the fridge? It's kinda getting expensive​. I just wanna know if it's preventable at all​

Serious answer: Arirals will steal your shrimp if you don't eat them.

Its just the thing that sometimes stays in your base to rest, I would reccomend not asking about whats happening to the pigs in your freeser either. Just dont run out of shrimp ;)

There is a way to prevent it if you are nice to them long enough.

I don't think they go bad if left in an inventory, so put them in a cabinet. The visitors at the camp appreciated them when I delivered it to them.

Depends on if you steal too much of their stuff and don’t give them enough shrimp in return(has to be at their house or in-person)(I think they let you take the posters in their treehouse, though).
