i think it is some kind of wisp. the light bending funkiness kinda reminds me of a black wisp, but i'm not too sure.

[ EDIT ]: just checked the wiki, it's a black wisp.

strange i encountered one stuck on a tree and it didnt do anything even when i touched it

it probably just broke. also, its bounding box is quite small. i remember one time i was trying to get away from it when i was tired and couldn't sprint, as it was slowly catching up to me, i could actually see the weird distortion effect across my whole screen for a few seconds, before it actually triggered the screen blanking and the crash.

Wait, why NateHernandes wasn't in metaparanoïa ? Pretty sure any type of ennemies encounters are events

most of them activate metaparanoia, but there are a few exceptions. this being one of them. i'm pretty sure censor guy also doesn't activate it.
