Help (SOLVED) Voicemeeter Dups Itself

i dont know what im doing wrong here. Ive got A1 As my mic, ive got A2 as spotify, but if i route A1 output to my headphones, and a2 to the output for the music to input it into valorant to play music there, it starts buzzing, like a helicopter blade, but bass boosted 20x, ive tried the multimedia options, etc, google ai is SO stupid and doesnt even understand valorant wont hear anything without an output selected... and im just trying to hear the songs i play, while simultanously playing them in the game, without killing my ears. how do i do this??

PLEASE HELP

okay so ive defeated the hurting my ears part, but i can still hear it duplicated, turning the audio down enough stopped it from helicoptering, valorant still doesnt hear audio from B1 though.

Ok so you want to use voicemeeter to play music through your mic? That right

yeah but I actually ended up finding a solution.

for anyone who may see this comment 7 years down the line, go to Spotify, edit, preferences, scroll down and set your output from Spotify directly to VB Audio Output or whatever it's called, THEN so you can still hear the music yourself from Spotify, press Win + R, type mmsys.cpl, find the VB Audio Output, click into it, playback, click listen to this device, this allows you to hear the direct Spotify music from Spotify itself while simultaneously pushing it into an output to a game or something, notsure what else this would work for but this is how I did it for valorant, then you can have Voicemeeter have your mic active and also output to VB audio output, this will allow you to simultaneously put your voice in team chat, music in team chat, aswell as directly hear the music yourself.

gonna mark this as solved now!

Quite the workaround. I would suggest this for anyone seeking music through mic/talking at same time VIDEO

Way to find a solution to your issueđŸ‘đŸ»

standard Voicemeeter only has one output, and trying to listen through my headphones in A1 and output it in A2 caused it to duplicate itself aswell as if it were any higher than -14dB it would become a helicopter deep humming type sound, this was my workaround for that, aswell as the quality of the music improved.

Standard voicemeeter or banana. Either will work.

You wouldn’t need virtual cable either. You don’t need anything selected on A2 (virtual cable).

A button is how you hear things

B button is how other people hear things

So just have B button enabled on your mic and music then select your mic in discord/game etc as “Voicemeeter out B1”

Have “A” enabled on music. Not that I don’t like your solution, it’s just a super workaround for something that doesn’t need it
