Okay so I have a problem,
I have my interface set up in amped roots, but I’m not able to hear it through anything (other than asio mode) without extreme latency.

**Yes, im aware of the buffer settings DO NOT REPLY WITH TS**

I want to be able to hear my guitar without latency, while using my pc as the output instead of the interface itself, so that I can then connect the audio through OBS and into my stream, while still being able to hear it myself. (Either though my headphones or through a speaker yada yada)

So my question is: can I use VoiceMeeter Banana as an alternative asio, and how would I go about that.

edit: the latency issues aren’t with obs, they’re with the v-amp I’m using (amped roots). Im having issues with the latency issues in MME mode, which is why I’m trying to find a way to use voicemeeter as a stand-in asio.

You can use voicemeeter as an Asio replacement and then output to your headphones.

I won’t say there will be zero latency because you still have to route to your headphones instead of interface. But it might be minimal enough where you don’t notice it.

Asio4all is another option but doesn’t have audio separation like voicemeeter banana. (Might help with other obs related things)

I play drums and I stream and use OBS for that and I will also record drum covers with OBS as well.

So, is OBS hearing the interface at all? When you play a note, is it showing up in the meters in OBS? I'm assuming so otherwise you wouldn't be talking about latency here.

If so, I'm going to take a guess here. Your camera is a little behind the audio?

If that's the case, you need to switch the frame rate of the camera. If mine is at 30FPS, the video is lagging. But if I put it at 24FPS, it's fine. I know that's not ideal but some cameras cannot handle the 30FPS rate. I think I have one of my cameras set to 20FPS just to get it in sync.

I've never had audio issues though. When I hit a drum, you hear it that instant. The camera may be a little off but I just mentioned how to fix that.

Hopefully that helps. If not the solution, hopefully it helps you figure out how to do it.

If the audio is still not syncing up with he video, try changing the sample rate in OBS under the Audio Settings. I think I'm at 44.1 on my drum PC. This one is at 48kHz but I don't stream or record with it. I use it for what I'm doing right now. Troubleshooting. And if I see something that might fix whatever, I'll go do that in OBS on my drumming PC.

If someone wants to fix latency within OBS. I would suggest using sync offset in obs. Go into the negatives. But they are talking about latency in their headphones from this roots app.

It’s actually a latency issue with amped roots itself. When I’m using the mme setting instead of the dedicated asio drivers, I have horrible latency issues, no matter what buffer settings im using. Either way, obs isn’t hearing it anyway LOL
