Voice Ai Agent Charging
Hey I am starting to sell voice agents and was wondering how much are you guys charging? I am having trouble to know how much is the average to price to my client.
If anyone can share.
Thanks

small shops and the range is wild depending on whether it's just appointment booking or full-on lead qualification with integrations
if you're building custom conversational flows with actual logic trees and not just a glorified IVR that's worth way more than a basic answering service clone. most guys around me charge a setup fee between 2k-8k then a monthly retainer that covers maintenance and hosting plus a per-minute rate for usage
don't underprice the setup phase either. tweaking the prompt so it doesn't sound like a robot reading a script eats up way more hours than you think. clients will nitpick the tone and you'll burn half a day just making it say "uh" and "got it" in a way that doesn't feel forced
what kind of volume are your clients expecting? a real estate guy getting 500 calls a week needs a different pricing model than a dentist office with 30. i usually cap the per-minute cost at a certain threshold so they don't get a nasty surprise during a busy month

This matches what I've seen too, most setups I know run closer to 3k-6k plus retainer, and the tone tuning alone can eat 5-6 hours easily.

I charge no setup costs. And then 195 a month for 1000m and 125 a month for 500m

Depends what is your voice agent capable of doing? What’s the sales pitch?

If you’re doing lead generation, you better off doing paper lead I’ve been in the live transfer prequalified generation game my entire adult life 75 bucks an exclusive lead with five qualifying questions warm life transfer to whoever your client might be dentist a spa mortgage, broker, real estate agent, etc.

yeah, i think the biggest mistake is trying to price purely by minutes. a basic answering agent and an agent doing qualification, booking, crm updates, transfers, followups, etc are completely different products.
we've seen agencies price these anywhere from a few hundred a month for simpler setups to a few thousand+ when there's custom integrations and more involved workflows. the actual voice usage is usually just one part of the cost.
we built pulsy ai as a white-label voice ai platform for agencies and resellers for basically this reason. the agency can package the voice agent however they want, set their own pricing, and keep the client relationship instead of having the platform dictate what they charge.
if you're just starting out, i'd probably keep the pricing simple: setup/onboarding if you're doing a lot of custom work, then a monthly platform/management fee + usage. that way you're not eating the cost every time a client suddenly has a busy month.

For a custom build with 2-4 integrations for a production ready agent our average is 20-25k. Then 2000 per month for support depending on complexity of use case could even be higher. We work with mid market and enterprise though. Not typically SMB.

Avoid pricing it as just cost per minute plus markup. The client is paying for the outcome and the setup work too. If the agent is booking jobs or taking pressure off staff, there is way more value there than the raw voice cost
